again...the majority of those arrested for possession of pot spend max 30 days in county lockup...they arent in the PRISON system...theres a definite difference...the prison system is where they have all the perks like cable and shit like that...county lockup is aimed at quick behavior adjustment...around here most of the time...for the small amounts most people have unless youre distributing...you'll get field booked...get a ticket...and a court date...and sent on your way

I did before I joined the AF, and I will when I get out...... Just not as much. And yes, there is a big diffrence between a drug user and a drug abuser.

I say legalize mary-jane. The stuff has to be the least harmful drug out there. People should be more worried about alcohol. How many violent pot-heads do you see? They just smoke up and hang out - don't bother anybody. Just for the record, I do not smoke weed - I do not like it at all, and what it does to me...I'll stick to lick-her. But anyways, I don't think the government (American or Canadian) will legalize it anytime soon...they probably make more money from it being illegal than legal.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
Kind of crazy how different states handle Pot. Back home in TN, if you got caught, the penalty was harsh. Yet pretty much everyone- all my friends, etc etc smoked it. Out here in Cali, I've seen people smoking it on the streets. Nobody- cops included- really care.

The stuff's no worse for you than Cigarettes. It burns, generates carbon and tar and thus isn't that great for your lungs. The ironic thing about it being illegal is that it was outlawed in the 30's because lobbyists working for the Hearst Newspaper corp were scared that a couple of cheaper processes involving hemp would make their pulp operations lose money. Hemp is basically non-medicinal weed that grows anywhere. So they made a lot of propaganda movies called: "Reefer Madness" to show what happened to people who smoked pot. They were pretty hysterical and inaccurate.

Well, Hemp was made illegal... as was Marijuana. Kind of ashame You can make anything out of hemp: paper, cloth, rope, oil, plastics, paint, and so on. Plus it grows fast and with hardly any care. American Farmers like my Uncle would sure do well to grow it.

Frankly I don't smoke the stuff so I don't care. But I think it aught to be legalized just the same.

^ I just read the same article! The ball is rolling. Here in BC with so much gang violence as of late, there are a lot of people and politicians talking about legalizing all drugs, as a way to combat the gangs. And if the government can make a few bucks while doing it, all the better!!!
