I thought I saw somewhere that SR's were being move to fleet vehicles exclusively. Seems like that's your problem.

I gave them a check for $250 when I ordered and they did not even cash it until I got the Truck about 4 months later.

You have to go to a dealer and tell them what you want. They place it in priority and when one comes along that matches or nearly matches what you want they grab it. I just got an 18 limited but did not want their toneau. NO choice. Every single one of them came through with the toyota toneau. I have a bakflip mx4 ordered and will have the toyota short bed toneau available this week. So Toyota builds what they want and you get to pick a close match and deal with it. GTS Bruce

Are you willing to travel? If the answer is yes, then good, read on...if you are not, ignore this post.

What is available to dealers immediately is somewhat limited by their "Toyota Region." Go to this website and find your Toyota Region.

    https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/determining-your-region-for-toyota-deals

Ok, so you already know there are none like you want in your region, so ignore your region and look at the ones closest to you in the order you would want to travel to first. Find a zip code in that region. Got to the Toyota website and at the top where it says your location put in a zip code that is in the region you want to search, then after your location is changed, go and search the inventory. At one time I was looking for a very unique Tacoma combination last year and I was able to find two of them in the whole country this way. It took a little effort, but I did it...then ended up buying a local one that was close enough. :D

For example, I searched on your criteria above and found 1 in the Mid-Atlantic region. You will have to contact a dealer in the region to get info on it and the website will direct your contact to the dealer assigned to the zip code you used. Good luck. :)

I can locate this truck for you no problem. Where are you located? I am a new car manager for a Toyota store near Philadelphia. I can ship the vehicle as well. We recently sold 2 Tacoma’s to a customer in California, we are very familiar with shipping cars, and doing out of state registration and taxes.
    Let me know!
    Thanks! Matt

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Bull!! It's not that they can't get it for you -- It IS-- that THEY (dealer) --does not WANT TO GET IT for you. They Don't want the extra paperwork and/or they WANT to sell you what they have on their lot PERIOD! I wanted to get a 17 SR5 AC AT 4WD in Blue --with no options except Tow Pkg. After we determined the price I would pay ($30,500) they went looking --could not find one anywhere around mid-US even on the "to be built lists". They put in a order -- I got it 8 weeks later. BTW I had 2 dealers willing to do the same deal for me, one in Columbia Mo and one in Jefferson City Mo --both great dealers.
If a dealer and their sales Mgr realizes that they have a customer KNOWS exactly what they want and is willing to wait --they will cater to you -- if they won't --walk out of the door.

Remember that to the dealer a sale is still a sale. They might prefer to sell you a truck off the lot but they still REALLY want to sell you a truck, period. Use this mentality when negotiating a deal. I would find a truck in stock that is very close in MSRP to what you want and negotiate a deal on that...and then once you've got them at $2-3K below MSRP or better, tell them you want the same discount on a truck ordered to your specifications. If they say no, simply walk away and find another dealer. I guarantee that there is a dealer out there who will work with you.

Edit - I ordered my truck and it took about 10 weeks to be produced and shipped to me. Luckily I had another car to drive, I sympathize with the folks that waited 4 months!

I had to wait 2 weeks to get mine from another city through my dealership. So much easier getting them to do all the leg work!

That is a good idea Kevindust. The deal will be made more complicated as I am planning on trading my Corolla on the truck. However, if I can get them to a price and agree to it in writing on an exact match (when they find one) it should be no different than buying it upfront. I usually have good luck with the dealers in my area. The guy I bought my Corolla from was a great salesman, I'm sure he will work with me.
