Is there a way to lock the doors while the truck is running? Like say I need to run into a store quick but want to leave it running for the A/C.

I would probably guess no lol.

So here's what I found out about that because I sometimes forget something in the house or want to keep the truck running and YES you CAN drive away without the Fob I've tried it. It just beeps.

So you cannot hit any lock button to get the doors to lock when the doors open and the engine is running. However my model has auto down and up windows so being curious I rolled the window down and shut the door. I reached through the window and locked the door and used the auto up feature on the window to closed and secure the vehicle. The fun part. You cannot unlock the doors at this point electronically, no grabbing door handle, or using the fob, you must take the actual key portion out of the Fob and manually unlock the door. Just seems very silly to me.

Also off topic, but if you're driving down the road and your friend wants to mess with you and you have a push to start, it will kill the engine. Seems like a design flaw as I know other cars will ask to shift from drive if moving.

If you had a key and your friend wants to mess with you. He can simply twist the key and turn off the Truck. Toyota had that unintended acceleration debacle awhile back. They want to make it as simple as possible to turn the Truck off in case you need too.

My roommate and I were having this same conversation the other day - he's got a Quicksand SR5 and his locks while pass/driver door is still open, while my 16 OR yells at me until the door is closed. :angrygirl:

Why would a different head unit change a vehicles stock settings???

This thread cracked me up. I deal with this same issue all the time! She hates the beep more than I do so I usually just hit lock and let it beep at her so she'll hurry up.

I also have a Quicksand SR5 and use this all the time... get out, close the driver's door, open the rear driver's side door, hit the lock on the FOB, grab a bunch off stuff out of the back and close the rear drivers door with my knee... doors lock and it beeps as normal. I find it very convenient when unloading from a trip. :D
