I'm digging that canopy! Where did you get that? Is it universal? I have a field and stream that it would work great for.

    All the time!!!
Its the shade off of a riding lawnmower, when I got finished building my kayak my neighbor "as a joke" said he had one left over from older mower I should put it on, so I did! We just troll fish and this Texas Heat. Its a 5 speed forward, and 3 reverse, and will fly in 5th . Made the stands out of Sched 80 PVC, heated bent and slid into rod holder "in picture PVC holders" for mounts, to be straight up, then built straps to support it, its solid as a rock. baby3050.JPG22.jpg baby3051.JPG23.jpg baby3052JPG24JPG.jpg baby3053JPG25JPG.jpg You can see on the bottom picture there is a Eye bolt at the top of the PVC to hold the straps and tie it down.

If I can help just shoot me and I'll send you close up pictures and try to help make it easier, it isn't bad, just some time. But my brother doesn't have the shade, and he Hates me!

Thanks. The eye bolts are a great idea up front if you can find a mounting place. Actually I just use the tow hooks underneath the air damn to tie off with a slip knot. It works really well. Cords will flap and cause abrasions on the plastics if they're loose though. Sometimes I just slap some felt in between the contact points if I'm traveling a long distance.

hey i just remembered, there are some heavy duty nylon straps that bolt to the fender bolts that are there when you open the hood. you tie off to those, no rubbing on the nose of your truck, they tuck out of the way when not in use, sold at a good paddle sports store.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to look for them. I don't like to travel without the front tied down. With a new 2015 Sport I'm just starting to look at a carrying set up for my 17 foot canoe. I have tracks on my shell and Yakima bars from my old truck. I think I'll need another bar on the cab. Just two bars on the shell looks like a lot of unsupported canoe to me.

Well I can't find anyone here with a similar setup but I have a 15.5 foot canoe. On my single cab ranger I just threw it on top and ran 2 straps to the front and 2 to the back securing it at 4 corners. When I got the truck the top was already scratched so I didn't care. I just got a regular cab 09 Tacoma and it is in excellent condition. I don't wanna do this. Anyone else have a similar setup or have any ideas? With a bed extender it would still stick out almost 6 feet.

I installed these Rhino bars today, getting ready for a canoe trip. Will assemble the hitch T-bar tomorrow, and test fit the canoe. Pic coming.

Get a single bar/rack for your cab along with the tall hitch mount carrier.

I installed the t-bar today, just loaded the canoe for a fit test, I like it, very secure sitting on all 3 bars.

Look at my previous pics, call auto anything and talk to someone, tell them you were sent there from this site, will get much better prices than on line. Got my Rhino bars there, and really like them.
