Did you get the 960 yet? Is it sweet or a POS like the 880?

it is coming in tomorrow. I'm not a very critical photographer, so I can pretty much guarantee that I'll say it is great.

Yeah, I'm sure it will be good. I'm just kidding about the 880 being POS, it's a very nice camera...It just doesnt shoot HD videos, so that's why I returned the bitch and will get the 960, hell I might even get the 780 as it shoots HD also.

So how is the camera? Particularly how is the HD video?

    Really? The HD is useless?

Actually, I haven't used the camera yet. Youtube started doing HD video. Go there and search for the camera and you can probably find some decent examples.

I found a few to download off of dpreview and they looked pretty good. It is no video camera though. I think that a standard resolution video camera would probably look about as good as this HD due to the noise and FPS.

I'm returning that stupid camera. I took better pictures with my 3 year old digital.

There was a lot of noise in all the pictures. Most came out blurry. The autofocus was questionable. The skin tones all came out horrible. I think this may have been due to an auto white balance feature.

Klown, feel free to give it a shot, but I'll be returning it and waiting it out for a few weeks to check out the reviews.

I got the 960, it seems as good as the 880 to me. I'm keeping it, I don't see a noise issue, and yes the pics turn out blurry in low light...It's a point and shoot with a small lens aperture, that's the trade off that's made with a tiny camera.

The worst issue for me was the skin tone issue. It happened mostly in outdoor lighting, but also a little bit indoors.

I've been using a compact point and shoot for years, but I've been using a lower megapixel camera. I think that they're trying to cram too many pixels onto too small of a sensor.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'll e-mail a few full size pictures of what I'm talking about.

I'll post a few pictures here of what I'm talking about, but they won't be full size.

Well the huge # of MP is getting out of control. But you can tune that # down if you want, it will reduce the noise.

I saw a debate about that and it seemed that the general consensus was that reducing the MP did not improve quality because they probably were just using a smaller section of the sensor.

Really? I'll have to check it out. Did you at least get a hummer from the wife when you presented the camera to her?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I could do so much with that, but I think I will give you a free pass. Besides, I don't want to get bit by the evil emu.

I spent a few minutes trying to prevent any easy work on that.
