hello got a quick question for ya, a friend of mine is giving me a canopy for free, he says that it fit on his 1987 2x2 toyota truck, i got a 2006 standerd cab the question is will it fit? thank you so much for stopping by!

 

Unfortunately I don't keep up with older Toyotas. Go by his house and stick the canopy on. You'll figure it out pretty quick. For free it's probably worth a look.
Actually I looked at the SnugTop site and it lists 1995.5-2004 model year takes the same cap. 2005-2011 years are the same depending on the cab. Yours, having a standard cab is somewhat limited to similar cab for those years. I actually bought my Double Cab canopy from a guy who had a standard cab. He bought it used and found that the double cab canopy is angled at the front end causing it to hit on a regular cab.
I suspect the newer model tacoma bed is wider and longer, but hey what the heck, go see your buddy and find out. good luck. Ken
