    Hey all!

New (2004) Tacoma owner and in the market for a canopy. Tacoma is Gold, but considering going with black canopy.

Anyone have a Gold truck with Black canopy? Thoughts on the going off color or staying gold?

    Here's mine:

The soft tops are black and they look pretty good. I think black is the only off color you can get away with. Other color combos just don't look good, which is only a problem if you care about how your truck looks.

with your truck already trimmed in black, why not?

Especially if you are shopping for a used one, it will be much more likely to find.

And if you hate it, you can match it later.

True. I waited damn near a year to find one the same color. Then I had to drive 2.5 hours to meet the seller and install it in the rain. My search was made even more difficult because I have the 5' bed. Worth it in the end I guess.

    Thanks all!

The previous owner had a black canopy, but my memory is too foggy to remember if the look worked. Would love to find a used canopy and know that black will be much easier to find than gold.

It's super hard to find images of gold and black combo online :)

Would prefer not to go with a soft top because eventually would like to have a rack. Great idea though.

I only mentioned the soft tops because they're often black and found on different colored trucks. Strictly for visualization purposes. I wasn't suggesting you buy one.

Totally! I've seen quite a few soft tops around town and can understand their use case.

Would love to just see what a the mismatch would look like just to make sure it's worth the time waiting for a used versus paying for a new one now. Appreciate the feedback though!
