I just fabbed together a suction device using an infant syringe and some rubber tubing from home depot. Of course, now its dark outside but I'll give it a shot

So, did the oil "change" on my supercharger just now.....

I opened up the oil port, inserted the tube with the syringe tightly affixed to the end (no leaks, 100% suction) and drew back....nothing. No oil came out. I figure, maybe I'm not getting it in or down far enough, so I push a little further, same thing. Just some dark, oily residue that smells like ass. So I decide to see what happens if I try putting some new oil in, sure enough I was able to put in almost a full 4oz bottle before I saw it start to trickle out the opening

Up until now, the supercharger has been running fine, no abnormal noises that I can tell other than the occasional 'pinging' from a lack of the 7th injector I figured. But damn, anyone with the supercharger be sure to check the oil in it. TRD says its good for 100k but I wouldn't trust that...

Took her for a test spin and maybe it's all in my head but it seems to run more smoothly, the whine is louder and clearer than it was before. Really hoping there's no internal damage from the low oil level...

Only damage is the front nose cone bearings and those are an easy replacement. The internals (rotors) of the sc are not part of the oil so no worries there.

Btw it's 100k for a rebuild but 30k for oil per TRD.

Good to know, thanks. And that would make a bit more sense then considering I suspect I've got about 30k on my supercharger now.

Yeah it's a cheap insurance to change every year just to be safe (depending on your annual mileage).
