Haven't picked her up yet but the bill of sale shows the VIN as

    5TEHN72N94Z4xxxxx

I am thinking maybe they put the wrong VIN unless someone on here can decipher?

Do all Tacoma VINs start with "5TEN"? That's what mine starts with!

I hope it is an error in writing it down. I would verify the VIN on the bill of sale matches the VIN visible through the windshield and the VIN on the door jamb then on at least 2 other stickers that are put on the major body pieces. There should be a sticker under a rear taillight housing too.

You have one of the first Tacomas ever built. I'm curious what he first letters/numbers in your VIN are...

So the bill of sale just has the five x's at the end?

My truck was manufactured in August 2009 and is titled as a 2010. I guess they did it differently back then.

I know my truck was built in California, just not sure if it was there...

I've got two 1995, one May and one June. Both look same as Jamesboy's VIN as far as Plant Code = Z, Freemont (NUMMI).

Vehicles built in the later parts of year X have been sold as model year X+1 since forever. It's still 2018, and you can can already buy a model year 2019 vehicle from Toyota and most other manufacturers.
