Can't find a ps3 anywhere...

So when i didn't really want a Ps3 they were everywhere, but now that i have the money for one i can't find one. How long do you guys think this shortage will go on for? It's seriously got me thinking about getting a xbox 360, which i don't really want to do in fear of the red ring and all my friends have Ps3.

I have an almost new one I might sell you. Not a slim, but just bought a few months ago.

 

I had no idea it was possible for something like that to have a shortage.
You can blame the air force. I read an article not to long ago that they bought something like 800 of them to try and duplicate the processing speed and thought process of the human brain.

lol trust me dude, ive called every damn walmart, bestbuy, target and kmart in a 150 mile radius.and got nothing.

Tried that already. the best buy one is the $350 and it has tobe available in your area, they will not ship. The Amazon one says it ships in 1 to 2 months.

 

people are wanting these to play God of War 3 I guess.

 

Im thinking its because of the drop in price and everyone is getting the income tax.

 

oh i didnt see that my bad. yea i was gunna get a ps3 but my bestbuy was out went back a couple days ago and they had around ten on the shelf but i decided not to get one after all. just goin to stick with my 360.

 

is the red ring that bad or common on the new 360's?

 

im noy sure, i heard the new elites dont get them but that just what i heard. i got the red a while ago had to call xbox and they sent me a box to ship it in with pre printed labels and everything. shipped and got shipped back like a week later i think. been about a year since that and no problems.

 

I had my first X360 for almost 2 years before I got the red ring, and it only happened after I had a power outage while playing it. Luckily I had the BB product replacement plan so I just called the number and they sent me a gift card for what I paid for it, so I went and bought another about a year ago. That was nice because the price had dropped quite a bit since I originally bought it.


The later models (2008+ I believe) have better reliability due to new improved 65nm chipsets and motherboards that have better methods for reducing heat.

 

yeh i have been looking at the elites. I wouldlove to get it bc i like gears of war. My luck as soon as i purchased a 360 the damn ps3 would be back out

 

I'm not a fanboy of either the X360 or PS3, but I prefer the Xbox myself. The online funcionality of Xbox Live just seems better to me than the PSN. Of course you do have to pay like $50 yearly for Live, so I guess it should be better.

Plus the Xbox has Gears of War.
