It’s always hard moving from one vehicle to the next.

I know this is an old post, but the information is timeless. I am about to embark on the search for the brake controller plug. I'm now 73, have had spinal fusion, and I'm on blood thinners. So I expect this process to be painful, bloody, and stressful. Hahaha. One of the questions that I didn't see an answer to is what do I look for in the rear of the truck in the way of a connector to hook my 7-pin pigtail too?

Below and to the left of the tow hitch is where the trailer connector is at.

Maybe I wasn't clear. Where in the rear of the truck is the connector where the wires from the brake controller terminate?

Assuming your truck has the factory tow package once you plug the brake controller pigtail in under the dash that’s it. The wiring is already ran by the factory harness to the connection in the rear bumper.

If you don’t have the factory tow package I think the wiring harness has a plug termination up above the rear bumper in the vicinity of the stock plug location.

No, it did not come with the tow package. But as I understand, all of the trucks were pre-wired. I just need to know where to begin to look for the wiring harness.

Okay, so I found the white connector under the dash.

My next question is, where do the wires go? Does it follow one of these bundles?

Anybody? I am still looking for the black and blue wire in the back of the truck.
