That doesn't really matter since he's a prerunner and doesn't need to match the gears of the front diff. I think all TRDs come with 4.10 gears any ways.

would it be possible to just swap the differentials? just take out the non-locking one and replace it with a locking one?

The third from the elocker TRD axle will not bolt into the non TRD axle housing.

Dang. Sounds like its gonna be a whole trd axle swap. So all I need to do is get a hold of one with a locker and 4.10 gears and I'll be good to go. The only thing I'm not sure of though is the ABS part. When i turn my key to the on position I dont see an ABS light, so that means i dont have it, right?

Yeah, you will need the whole axle. Being 4.10 gears or not is not a big deal, you don't have a front diff to match up to. I believe they are all 4.10 gears anyways. I believe you should be able to remove the ABS from the axle if your truck doesn't have ABS.

You don't have to buy it, your dash should already have the rr diff lock light in it just nothing hooked up to it. You will need a wiring harness though.

Sweet. I have a little bit more saving to do and then its a trd axle swap. Do you know where I would be able to get the wiring harness and 4wd computer at?

Probably from Toyota, you won't need a 4wd computer.

    thank you for the link.

and I thought you had to have the 4wd computer to engage the lock? I read a couple of threads on the swap and they all got the computer for some reason

so it wont preform weird if i just skip the computer? if it doesnt affect how it operates then it wouldnt really be a need to buy an extra part that doesnt really do anything

Why would he need the 4wd computer if he is a prerunner? Do the TRD prerunners come with the 4wd computer from the factory to engage the elocker?

I do sometimes because i do light offroading to get back to my cabin and around the area up there. ive been stuck a few times but anywhere i do take my truck isnt too bad so a locker would serve me just fine. I would like a 4wd but i bought my 2wd because it was cheaper and i had planned on doing this mod since i got it

Use the 12voltguy elocker harness. Much easier and no computers needed
