750 miles on odo... In the morning, I wait the 30 seconds or so until the idle comes down and then go. First gear, then second, then slow down for speed bump on road, and then I try to go back to first but it seems hesitant. Is that because it's a new truck, or will it always have to warm up longer, or...?

Typical. It gets better as the the truck breaks in.

How fast are you going when you try to put it back into first gear?

I can't put my truck into first unless I'm almost at a dead stop. Not that there's really any reason to put it in first after you're over 5mph anyways.

Cant be more than 2 miles per hour, but the point is that it seems easily able to go into first after awhile... I guess that does point to warming it up but I just wondered more if that's a break-in thing or not, which sr5vic concurs with.

Gotcha. At around 2 mph I would expect it to go into first without hesitation, so maybe it is a break-in thing.

I've never owned a vehicle that liked going into first once it was rolling. Blip the throttle a little in neutral before you go for first and see if that alleviates the issue.

pump the clutch, you may need to adjust it.. its pretty easy to do, there are two nuts on the back of the pedal.. pull it foreward and back and test it out to see what feels better.

Mine took like 40,000 miles before it would go into 1st without being completely stopped. The trans fluid temperature has a significant effect on this, overall, mine shifts much smoother after about 30 minutes of highway driving.
