May be where you are placing the cap when filing. You using a Gasshole or letting it hang? :D

There is a roll over safety valve between the filler neck and gas tank that has been known to cause this problem in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas.

Evap canister under the bed. juste disconnect hose from fuel neck filler to evap canister and blow some air into canister through the hose (only by your breath). little check valve in canister stock close.

it happen on my tundra, no code juste filling gaz impossible (only very slowly)

Before you spend more time and any money, at least take it back to where you bought it and ask if they will check it out for you since you just gave them your business. Doesn’t hurt to ask.

edit: Might even be covered under warranty?

My Mustang does this. Known issue for years, Ford denies there's a problem.

My solution: flip the pump handle upside down when filling up. For some odd reason that has worked for me so I never bothered with Ford for a fix. Try it out?

Oh, and I'd go back to dealer too. GL!

I had this happen on my other truck, my Subaru Baha (laughing). Started happening at every station and pump. Replaced charcoal canister and problem went away. I sold my Baha and bought this Tacoma. I do sometimes miss the little Suby. A good mechanic will point you in the right direction.

Yup, lived in Oregon 65 years and the only time I could pump gas was when I worked at a gas station. People in the other 48 states are risking their lives every time they fill up not having a professional filling their tanks.
