    Hey

I am having a hard time removing my grille from my truck. I got the clips and the two 10 mm but the clips on the bottom... Well... I just don't get how they work do I push up on them? down on them? I don't get it... It's making me a little frustrated :D and please don't send me the grille craft link it helps to a point but doesn't help me thoroughly. Btw its a 2014

    Thanks for your time!

Is a 2014 different because I did that and it's still snug as a bug in a rug?

Billies 5100's front set to 1.75 plus 1/4 taco lean spacer. Rears Billies plus AAL for a 2" leaf. 265/75/16 BGF's. Double din Kenwood stereo w/bluetooth and steering wheel controls and JBL speakers front & rear. Heavy duty battery. Billet grill blacked out. K&N air filter and MBRP cat-back. Just tuned it up new plugs and new front brake pads. Steel powered coated tailgate cap. Billet Grill painted black & factory roof racks. Oh new head lights thanks to toyota.
I researched it before removing mine. Once the top two screws are out the the top push in pin are out, you grab the grill and pull up hard to pop out of the bottom clips.

Same thing on my 13. Flat head screw driver. Little bit of a pain for me with a custom grill, aftermarket horns and a LED bar but always worked great for me.

I've removed the grill on my 14. The clips on the bottom are done the same way, with a small flat head screwdriver. Not sure what else to really say, I did have a couple that were harder to remove than the others but they all popped up and then could be pulled out. You are looking to pop up the middle portion of the plastic clip and at that point once it is up you can pull the clip out.

I did not use a screwdriver, nor do I think you should, too easy to mar the grille.

Just grasp it firmly close to the bottom and pull hard up and slightly away from the front of the truck. It'll release from the clips. It feels like you are going to break it, but you won't.*

Once you have it off it's easier to see / understand the orientation of the clips and then re installing it and removing it again later is easy.

*if you do, it's on you

That's correct, once you get the plastic pop clips out there are a series of clips at the bottom. I started on one end with a firm tug and the bottoms clips started to disengage and then just worked my way to the other side. And yes with the amount of pull it does feel like something may break but the tabs released first. Have pulled the grill out 3 times... gets easier each time lol

Thanks guys I got after getting really pissed off at it and just yanked at it and it popped out on one side and I eventually got the other side out same way. And this was all for just seeing where I can mount my R.I. Duallys when I get them. I'll start a new thread on that though.

    Thanks again!
