I've followed the instructions below numerous times, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I hear the acknowledgement beep, but the car still beeps every time I go to lock or unlock. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

    I have a 2009 TRD Tacoma, thanks.

    1. Open the driver's door, and insert the key into the ignition. Leave the door open.
    2. Remove the key from the ignition, and within 5 seconds, re-insert the key and then turn the ignition to ON.
    3. Wait at least 10 seconds, but less than 20 seconds. After waiting, press a button on the remote twice. Press the same button two times - don't press two different buttons. The system will acknowledge with a beep if you did it right.

If my dealer pulled something like that on me ... $120 ... I'd find a new dealer.

Just unplug the beeper. Up close to the radiator on the drivers side. That way you can just plug it back an make it functional when you want it.

Had mine in for an oil change on Friday and asked them to disable this beeping and was quoted $30 to disable the door/keyless/seatbelt beeping. I went to pay and he said don't worry about it, no charge. $120 is ridiculous. When you find someone who does it for a reasonable price, make sure to let the manager of the original place know that they have lost your business for life.

$120 is completely ridiculous. I called another few dealers, they all wanted over 100 bucks to do it!

Does anyone have ANY ideas? I have a neighbor who has filed a complaint for noise abatement due to this horn problem and I don't have $100 to throw into the trash today. Thanks.

    this worked with my 09

Step one: Keep driver side door open. Insert key into ignition and take out.

Step two: Put key back in ignition w/in five seconds. .

step three: Turn to the "on" position, not the acc position and wait 10 seconds.

Step four: click the "lock" or "unlock" twice as soon as the key is in the "on" position. You should here one continous beep for about a second.

Step five: Take key out. Get out of truck. Shut door. Try your keyless entry button. You should get no beep but still see the parking lights flash.

looks close to what you were doing but worded different

This worked for the beep or for the horn? My problem is the horn, every time I lock or unlock, the beep AND the horn both sound.

Nice neighbor. I hope you get this sorted out, but I'd really be pissed at the neighbor. Nitpicker for sure.

Tell me about it. I'm desperate to turn the horn off now because if I ever have to deal with that person again I think I'm gonna get evicted or go to jail!

Does anyone know why the horn honks when I lock my doors and most people just have a beep? I'm guessing this is some kind of upgraded alarm? I do have a flashing red LED to the driver's left.

Why not just use the key instead? Is it that difficult to stick it in and twist?

    A little a this, a little a that...
My factory alarm doesn't trigger the horn. To turn off the alarm beep I just unplugged the beeper. Super fast and way easier than doing the rain dance. See if there's a wire at your horn coming from the alarm and unplug it.

Wouldn't that disable the alarm also?

Shouldn't if the wire is going to the trucks horn.

Kinda weird if you have a factory alarm and it sounds the horn. I've never seen a factory alarm do that on a Taco.

The red LED is to the driver's left, looks like they put it on an empty button slot. There's no button underneath it unfortunately. The only button I see near the lever for the hood is the set button but I think that's for tire pressure isn't it?
