My stock 2006 Colorado puked the top end (like they all did) at 70K babied miles, wonder how long before that kit grenades it

I don't know if the Colorado's quality is anything like my Tahoe, but I love my Tahoe. Granted the Tahoe and Tacoma are very different vehicles in different price points, but the Tahoe has been great and had less problems than my Tacoma along with 25k more miles on it too.

I laughed way too hard at this...

Also, OP, why are you posting this crap on a Tacoma forum? Just to troll?

After spending $2,000+ on tunes in an attempt to make my '15 Colorado shift correctly, I seriously considered installing Mallet's supercharger.
The truck needed a hell of a lot more torque down low, since the tranny always wanted to be in 6th gear. But... guess what I did instead. :D

I also read somewhere that superchargers don't play well in cold climates. No idea if that's true, but I didn't want to take a chance.

Ya, I got 20 mpg in my mustang on the ride to the dyno after I installed my SC, but I'm lucky to see 17 highway now lol. Nobody gets a supercharger to stay off the throttle.

Trucks are slow.... until you stick a nitrous fed 572 Big Block under the hood.

Until then, I probably don't really care. On a Tacoma, I'm just driving it and I don't really need speed off road.

It matters in that competition spurs innovation. Hopefully, it will result in a speedier delivery of a SC for the Tacoma.

A supercharger makes an engine run more efficiently so technically speaking I could see how/why they would make the improved MPG claim.

But there's that little caveat of added horsepower and torque that usually means the driver is going to drive it harder, which of course = far less MPG.

Yes but you also need to add more fuel (bigger injectors and/or fuel pump) and run premium. Maybe if I am very gentle I can coax a few more mpg out of my car, but same goes for if it were stock.

Very true. I had to install the 7th on mine and I know the pain of needing to run premium in my truck, lol. Not fun especially here in CA...
