What’s the word ? They fix it ?

 

Just got it home, so far it's ok. Two small drops of oil since then but it doesn't look like he cleaned it up so could be from that maybe?

 

Maybe ? What did they have to do ? Where was the original oil leak ?

 

I would definitely be checking the oil level every day !

 

Changed the front crankshaft seal, and I drove it a couple times with oil going everywhere this morning so could be that

 

Im gonna go spray it down at the car wash I think...

 

Yup ,just keep an eye on your oil level . You could also put a large piece of cardboard under the engine while it’s parked overnight. Makes it easier to spot leaks . Also could let it run for a while with the cardboard under it and watch for any drips .

 

Cover your fuse box with a large ziplock bag .

 

I'll try that too, thank you. I'll take any tips you guys got. Still worried about taking it on a trip cause I don't know anyone between here and where we're going. Where we'll be once we get there I know some people there that could help me if I need it maybe but I dunno that I'll bug anyone. I do have roadside assistance too though through my insurance, so as long as I have service I can get help. Had to do it last year on my trip.

 

I didn't go, I took it on a drive to the store and back a couple times instead.

 

This is how much has dripped since I've been home... three different spots. Use to never leak at all..

 

If he never cleaned it that’s about normal. Think of it as rustproofing.

A little leak on our truck shows it's a well oiled machine

 

Let it run in the driveway with cardboard under it like Bill mentioned, check on it from time to time. The longer it runs and the dripping stops, youll feel better about going on your trip. Get under there with some newspaper and soak up as much as you can from the frame and bottom of the engine. It'll be kinda messy but if you help it "dry out" youll know if you still have a problem

 

Ok, I'll do this tomorrow evening while I'm cleaning it out and getting it ready I guess. Running out of time and so much to do. I'll be driving it to work and back to so hopefully it'll help get rid of excess oil as well.

thats the idea, run it/drive it as much as you can between now and when you leave. If something's going to happen you want it to happen now while you're still close to home
