Yeah, the feelin’ is indescribable but the reactions were pretty special too.

How many folks said “best of luck” and really meant it.

 

Exactly on both accounts. I’m past being ready for something new.

 

Some guys looked like prisoners left behind in a jail break, lol.

 

My chief and my supervisor did. I’ve known my chief for 19 years. We’ve been good friends since we met. He told me he’s making my spot a part time position and if things didn’t work out I’d be at the top of the list for rehire. His son works at Coke.

 

Sounds like a win/win to me. I used to create a lot of commercials for Coke back in the day. They are a funny bunch on the ad/promotions side of things. They would always bring in their logo on a drive and say, do you have the right logo.
I would say, I’m certain I do, as you have it to me yesterday, the day before and countless times before that.
“Would you mind uploading this one, just to be sure?” they said.
I said but of course I will upload your logo for an additional fee. Lol

 

Told my CEO I’m goin’ to a better place & I don’t even have to die.

 

Yeah it is. He’s actually the interim chief right now. He got asst. chief a couple years ago and is now in the process of moving into the chief position. I’m happy for him and he’ll make a excellent chief for the dept.

 

He was like I know you’re getting burned out on this. I was like no, I love this shit but I want to be at home at night and when I go to sleep I want to stay that way. I’m just tired of being tired and drained all the time.

 

Haha!! Love it. I had a similar experience. Before I started up a landscape business, I was an Art Director at Turner Entertainment. My job was to oversee, create and implement a truck ton of graphics on a daily basis. My job was nuts and I would not wish it upon anyone.
I remember the day when my boss, who was the head of Turner said one day. “I own you, everything, your time...your further...etc.
Being that I did not have kids or a wife, I told him to stick it. Walked away from that industry all together.
Haven’t even launched a Mac in 5 yrs now.
No more bs graphics making for me, I’ll cut your grass, and sling dirt in ya face anytime. BRAAPppp..

 

Sounds like ya need to add some fruit to your diet. Lol, sounds like your mom I know. But it’s the quickest way to boost your energy levels and get them to stay up. Smoothie time for you my friend!

Good for you man. I too recently changed jobs after being at the same place for 10+ years. The look on my bosses faces of cumulative "ohh shit" when I handed in my two weeks was so worth all the bs I put up with. Now I'm working less hours, for more money and I'm liking what I'm doing. Booyah!

Guess you’ll still be seein’ early mornin’ hours but no traffic & when you get there is up to you. No more hurry up then wait. It’s just a question of “quality of life”. That’s the Biggie for sure.

 

I just work at the busiest station and it’s kinda rare we get to sleep all night. Then my sleep schedule gets all screwed up and here we are.

 

Funny thing is I got the route in the county I work in now. So I’ll probably see everyone still. Lol

 

I’m just two blocks down the street from where I worked for 17 years. I literally look down on it all the time.
