lol I put 10 miles on a super duty for every 1 I put on my personal truck. I've always been used to big trucks that's why the tacoma felt so foreign to me after awhile. I learned to drive in an f250 with a 5speed

 

Kinda weird I feel like a dually is so wide when we drive f450 dually’s at work and they don’t seem as big.

Spent most of my career driving International ambulances. We just switched 2 yrs ago to the f450’s. I miss my big truck.

 

we've got two international's grain trucks on the farm, the semi with a cummins is alright but the 4600with an international motor we have is a piece of shit and won't start of a morning. did the ones you drove ever have those issues?

 

We had the 4300’s. Was rare for them to not start and they got driven like we stole them. No warm ups and balls to the wall. Lol


We used to go through alternators till they finally started using leds for the lights. The last two we got had a few issues though. The one front line one still left in service needs a new ecm. Sometimes when you’re running down the interstate at 82 it will lose power for about 3 seconds and slow down a little. But then regains it and carries on. Only thing they can figure is it’s the ecm causing it to do that. They just ordered 2 more f450’s so it will be going into reserve status when they get there.


I can tell you this. The first f450 spent more time in the shop than the international did in years. I think it was gone for 3-4 months. I was like and you want to buy more of them??? Tried to talk them into a Hino with the Toyota diesel. Had their heart set on these damn things.


The one we drive now (F450) has 55k miles on it now and has had 2 sets of tires and the brakes were wore out at 48k miles. The liquid ride suspension has to be recalibrated every 3 days or it feels like the truck is wandering all over the road. I’m not a fan of them. Plus it gets a consistent 6-7 mpg.

 

The KW I drove at Coke had the PACCAR engine in it and it was pretty good. They said it would only break down once a year and always in the same city. Lol


Only problem I had with it was one time the starter went out. But that thing got started a lot every day.

Thanks guys! My gf seems to be doing quite well with the situation, we are actually turning it into a mini vacation since we haven't been up in that area for a while. Rather celebrate life than mourn it. Life is for the living!

No lie. 55 degrees outside this morning coming to work. Facility custodian decided that NOW was the time to turn the heat on - it's 80 in my office.

I'd kill him, but the effort would make me sweat more.

 

It was 48 when I woke up and now its 52, still no heat on in my office.....because I'm the office manager
