Kentucky is #1 (or #50. depending on how you look at it) for prescription drug abuse in the US. That, along with the usual meth and heroine tweekers and we're dealing with a full blown epidemic in the state.

 

Ohio is the same. Especially where I live

 

Maybe they should have better health services instead of locking everybody up?

 

At the risk of getting "political". Kentucky was held up as the shining star in the "affordable health care" program. Maybe they should lock more people up (and throw away the key) instead of putting them on the taxpayers dime for free medical (that they use to get MORE drugs).....

It's not a matter of filling the prisons (That costs tons of tax money too) it's a matter of trying to rehabilitate people instead of discarding them (the supposed mission of corrections)

Sadly, it's proving to be one that doesn't work so well in real life.

People are using the public health care system to gain access to MORE drugs.

It's a matter of what form that help comes in.....Free drugs/free needles/no consequences just isn't working.

They don't have a choice. Simple. The judge rules and that's the end unless they appeal.

 

The current system has proven not to work in real life and we are slowly changing it. Right now we aren't even arguing the same issue btw. You're hung up of ACA. What I'm talking about is corrections.

 

you know what we haven't tried yet? make every adult have to carry a gun in public, like they "have" to have a license to drive, so if they wanna go out in public, they have to have a gun. like once a year everyone has to have like 1 hour logged range time... I feel like all the stupid people would weed each other out in about 3 days, then everything should be honkey dory

 

You're not getting it. You will be escorted to a rehab prison of sorts instead of a general population prison full of rapers and murders.
