    Long exposure to the sun will, over time, take its toll on a camera. Taking a few quick pics of this eclipse won't
    heard this earlier today and I chuckled.
    People have been taking pics of the sun for a long time with camera phones, not really heard anyone say the sun ruined their phone

    Google, nor NASA themselves, could determine if taking a few pics of the eclipse could damage a phone's camera.

    They, however, weren't exactly saying you should setup your phone on a tripod for the entire duration to record it.
