Well, at least the bumps are smoother.

 

You know I don’t know if it was aligned today because this was a free install . But it was obviously aligned after frame install back in July . It rides good ,no pulling , very minor steering wheel vibe you can barely feel around 52 mph .

 

I have a feeling my chicken hacienda build thread would still get locked, so I should probably do it.

 

Oh man , those shit springs they put in with the frame were real bad . Hit a bump at highway speed and I thought I was headed for the buckle brush

 

Rained so hard yesterday on my ride home the eyesight system on my car stopped working.

Autonomous cars are going to suck, because they won't work in a down poor or white out conditions. I wonder what happens in the fog? The ones that rely on cameras any way. I'd guess radar systems would be affected as well.

The it rained even hard when I got home.

 

That's exactly what I've got & I'm not lifted yet. A vibe at 52Mph. So you're sure nothin' accidently got flipped & both sides are the same on the install?

The Dakar with the + is on driver side and the one with “0” is on passenger and my driver side coil over has a 1/4” top plate spacer but I think I will get a bigger spacer !

 

Look at the plates, u bolts & everything you took off to install the springs. It's easy to accidently flip a plate over or overlook something that once you look at each side, you will notice. After a settling in period, retorque everything. Just a possibility, that's all.

 

Hey Bill, you run the 6112s I see. The "top" setting, is that the max lift setting?

I asked HS about 6112s and was told this:

From most of the feedback I have, the 6112’s provide a nice on and off-road ride quality at the lower notch settings but at the highest notch setting I do have quite a bit of feedback in which people don’t care for the ride quality. So if you are looking to gain around 2” of lift over stock the ride may be firmer than you would like. Ride quality is greatly subjective but I do like to let people know what I have heard since it can be helpful.

I certainly am not doubting this but am just curious how firm is firm? I wonder if it is more firm than the stock Hitachi's on my Sport? Also, the top setting is only 2" of lift (3rd Gen) ?

If you go 1/2" spacer that will yield 1" of lift.

 

What is the eyesight system? Is that the alarm that notifies you when the vehicles in front of you are stopping but you aren't?

 

Def a little stiff. But not bad . 2nd Gen top setting is (max) 2.46” . I went from 5100s at 1.75 to the 6112s and I’m really not sure how much lift I got but it was substantial over the 5100 s . Tire size is 285/70 17 very minor rubbing on plastic inner fender well at full turn and have not really gone off-road beside a logging road and field. Is there a thread that has OEM hub to fender measurements

 

Hmmm, maybe 3/8” would suffice .

 

I will let the Dakar’s settle for a while and measure again .
