Legal age for Class A CDL in Virginia? I can get my CDL at 18 next year, but I cannot drive outside of Texas.

 

Back around 1989 a friend of mine (best man at my wedding, actually) accidentally left his then brand new '89 Honda Accord running all night long in a snow storm in front of his townhouse. He said he got up the next morning and couldn't find his keys. After turning his place upside down looking for them, he figured he'd get the spare key and see if perhaps he'd left them in the car. He said he walked out into several inches of fresh snow to see that his car was the only snow free car on the block. Those old Accords ran so smoothly and quietly that he had to walk right up on it to even hear it running. He said his heart skip a beat. Amazing no one had touch it.

He laughed it off as pure luck and chuckled that it had only used about a 1/4 of a tank of gas in the 9 hours it idled there..........waiting to he stolen.

 

Does idling warm up a car? I feel like my trucks temperature needle only moves to the warm side while I'm actually driving it.

 

When it sits idling for nine hours with the heat on it sure does.

 

lmao. One of our buses was T-boned by a texter last year... only one girl received an injury (glass penetrated her arm).

 

My remote start can be programmed to start on temperature if no block heater power is available. My Old Ranger would burn 1/3 tank on a Cold Night. Terrible Gas Consumption

 

I turn it on, lock the doors , and go back inside. Then when I'm ready to leave, I unlock using my dad's fob.

So my grandfather was in the radio/phonograph/tube/battery repair and sales business from the 1920s until his death in 1966. He had tons of tools and equipment that he'd collected during that time...most of it was acquired by my uncle in 1970 and sold off. But one tube and battery tester...a 1940 Radiotechnic Laboratory counter top model 120 somehow ended up in my grandparent's basement sometime in the late 40s. I remember it as a kid in the early to mid 70s sitting on his workbench. It sat there untouched for 70 years.

I asked my 100 year old grandmother if she would like me to try and sell it for her. She said sure. She hadn't been in the basement in 15 years and couldn't even remember what was down there.

I found a guy in California who said he would buy it...as the counter top version was kind of rare. He spent several months restoring it and even got it functioning.

Glad to see it finally seeing the light of day.

That pegs the Ultra Cool meter. Quality Drugstores had ‘em up here. Last one I saw like that was in the former GDR.

I don't even have my full drivers license... I'm technically driving illegally with a "learners permit". I need 2 more months to be able to get my full license

 

My learners permit was a mail in form with my Dads forged signature on it. Two weeks later, Boom! I’m drivin’

 

I went to an online drivers ed... was at the DPS filing paperwork to get my permit 2 days later.
