my wife and i totally enjoy our A.R.E. walk-in cap on our 2007 TACO. The 'man-door' is great for getting at stuff quickly and for use if we sleep inside the truck bed (utilizing the truck-tent as a changing/living room). And if we go out gold panning with the Aliner trailer, we have the full access door to get at gold panning gear and backpacks.

A.R.E. makes very nice products, highly recommended.

or with the truck-tent attached (utilizing the 'man-door' for access):

i vote undercover. I'll be driving in the chicago winters and I dont want to worry about cleaning the 'snow' out of folding covers folds or scratching it etc. Def. have to worry about theft here so the security is covered. And if i need it off it'll take 2x people 5 min or me 10min

    THX! : )

. . . the rig is quite versitile. and the silly red privacy curtain allows us to get in and out of our chest waders from panning in the river or give some privacy to the port-a-poty thingy we have (just a toilet seat on one of our 5 gallon buckets we use for classifying our concentrates looking for gold).

add to that our Aliner EASE, and we have nearly every combo to adventure for what we like to do!

    happy trails,

I've had a hard top on every truck I've owned. Best for dogs, can get a deer or elk inside, transport my wife's artwork safely etc. But, I don't haul motorcycles or ATV (use a trailer) so depends on what you want to use it for, as always...

Are there are any caps on the market that can accomodate an ATV or motorcycle? I think I'm s.o.l. Probably get the backflip so I can have lockablity and then fold it up for the quad. Or get the Roll n Lock if I can afford it.

I recently bought a Leer 700 hardcover. I bought it because it adds to the height of the box and really beefs up the look of the truck. That was always my problem with the DC tacos. The box looks too small and not in proportion with the rest of the truck. Adding the hardcover corrected that issue for me. It remains to be seen how I like the restriction in load carrying ability. I haven't had the pleasure of having to remove it yet.

I have a 09 access cab and am looking for a Canopy. Do I need to remove the plastic bed caps before it is installed?
