So I found a guy selling a sport hood but it’s not oem and he says it’s capa certified. What does that mean, is it worth buying? Also what do sport hoods sell for unpainted vs painted. Has anyone gotten one of these capa certified hoods and been fine with it?

Aftermarket parts that receive a certification from the Certified Automotive Parts Association (or CAPA, for short) are reputable. You know what you're getting, simply because the components have been tested, tested and tested some more.Sep 29, 2020

When insurance companies go for aftermarket parts they use CAPA certified ones, it is a good sign as to them being better quality than some of the ultra-cheap, non certified used body parts you see online. Less likely to end up with big gaps in body panels, better fitment, etc.
