Capacity question 23' long bed

Recently hauled roughly 1400lbs of wood pellets for a friend, give or take 60 ish bags 2 trips. Would one time be enough to cause premature wear or failure on the leaf spring or struts. This was in the bed and not in a trailer.

Anything I should inspect. Appreciate this in advance.

 

short answer is no

 

You should be fine. Unless you were hitting speed bumps at 50 MPH.

23' long bed?

 

If you did two trips, that’s 700 pounds a trip, that’s not too bad.

If you did two trips of 1400 pounds, that’s more of a problem.

If the springs don’t look like they are sagging now, you’re probably OK.

Your truck is okay. It is a Toyota. No damage.

 

it's fine, I wouldn't make a habit of going that far above payload for longevity or the sake of safety.
This is where a little utility trailer comes in handy.

Yea Still working on finding a house. Not much selection where I am. That's next. Should I be worried about the springs looking flat.

Is it worth upgrading or replacing the stock Leaf's anyways?

 

They look fairly flat, or inverted from the factory.
The OE springs are fine for empty beds, but definitely show their weakness with even the slightest load. This is why you see so many adding new leaf packs, not just for a lift, but even adding something as simple as a fiberglass topper leaves the rear sagging on OE.

Based on common English language & grammar, this reads as a bed that is 23 feet long.
Better grammar would be "a 2023 long bed."
The only place the "long bed" distinction is really relevant is if you had a double cab with a 6' bed (it has a longer wheelbase).
The Access cab Tacos have a 6' bed but it's not specifically considered a "long bed."
Must be a newbie in the Tacoma world.

 

common sense dictates that there is no 23 foot bed , so even for me 23 long bed means 2023 long bed
