I'm not sure, I've never shore fished here before. Three weeks ago, we were fishing in long island sound and the ONLY fish we saw caught on live bait were porgies on sand worms. we had zero luck with sand worms, squid, chunked fish, etc. All of our catches came from casting spoons and big stick baits.

Interesting. I’ve only shore fished in RI and the only thing I caught anything on was squid

I'm stopping at NCO, and buying a pound of squid and a 3 pack of herring. I'll also ask what they suggest for shore casting.

Hoping to be packed up and out of here around 11 tomorrow morning. Hopefully that will have me missing the heavier Fri traffic and getting to the campground around 4 or 5

I'm planning to leave early 6am, hit up portland, and get myself an EZ-pass, and head to NH, get groceries (tax free), and head to Boston REI.. looking for a decent compact mess kit.. thinking i'll roll into camp at 2-3pm or so..

@SR-71A you have some blocks of wood? turns out the stuff I have is 2x8x12 bringing 3 pieces hope that's acceptable by them...

If you don't find anything at REI, there is also Eastern Mountain Sports in Hyannis, just off RT 6.

I was close to getting that set but ended up with the 2 man version with bowls instead. Figured plates are much easier to bring paper version of. Very happy with the kit and it saw at least 6 weeks of daily use this summer alone.
