That's really not bad. I need to get the tank filled before Moab anyway...

    Ball joints are dumb.

Why is that? Are you going to put on limit straps so you don't bottom out?

Not planning on straps, I don't really see a point on mid travel setups if the truck never gets off the ground at high speeds. I got rid of the upper ball joints today once and for all, that design needs to go away.

to each his own. I'm sticking with ball joints. IMO, no reason to go to uniballs unless you are going full long travel and/or racing/jumping. I know uniballs are the rage around here and I'm sure everyone is gonna jump down my throat for saying it. Oh well. Just don't see the point on a mid travel truck. You can get the same travel and caster from balljoints if done right and you won't have to rebuild the ball joints every year or so like you will with uniballs.

Sorry if I just opened a can-o-worms in your thread. The truck is looking killer! and I'm really diggin your flatbed design.

It's all good - I only really went this route over LR UCA's because I hadn't ever seen anyone use the LR on mid travel first gen. I initially bought a set of those but started questioning the ability of those ball joints to droop without binding. I was a little surprised to see what my balljoints looked like from occasionally being fully extended - the housings took a fair bit of damage.

    Thank you! Appreciate the compliments.

Any concerns about the gas filler neck getting snagged on trees or something?

Not hugely concerned, ultimately I hope to have it positioned elsewhere, but I'm not sure where or how just yet. Once the Rotopax get mounted it will be a little more hidden from snags.

I had the filler neck on my old flatbed truck in a similar position. I wouldn't worry about it one bit. Extremely unlikely that you'll snag it on anything. Truck's looking good.

Are they flush with the cab? That looks sweet!

Are those 10" travel and are they in line with the stock mount. Might be knocking mine out tomorrow.
