    Well...

I don't know what to say. This week, and over the last week and a half, I've been getting a LOT done on the truck - this week I replaced brakes on all 4 corners, rear axle bearings, one of the CV axles, completely redid my switch panel, added my 42" curved LED bar, put on some LED pods as alley lights, and meticulously went through and got everything wired up the way I wanted to. In fact, I was on my way out to do a night trail run on Yankee Hill tonight, when my truck wanted its belly scratched. I even had my camera to take pictures of all the sweet new additions. (My switch panel was legit, brand new OTRATTW switches with red lower LED wired into the dash circuit, and upper green - on when the switch is turned on. I even managed to get the upper and lower LED's to dim.

I don't know what's going to happen next. But I'm pretty certain it's totaled.

I saw that on FB, but man does that suck! Glad you're OK, you going to get another to replace it and transfer all your parts?

I guess that depends on what insurance says, can't see the cab all that well, but I would have to imagine that is totaled as well.

The cab is pretty nicely wrecked, I'm really skeptical that it's salvageable or repairable. I don't have comprehensive insurance, so I'm hoping we can find the guy in the neighborhood somewhere to get his info - that's currently the best possible outcome. Otherwise, it's not looking good.

Tomorrow I'm going to get a better look at it in daylight, by the time it got pulled up, it had been upside down for a good 4 hours, and was dark, so I didn't get a great look at the specifics.

If nothing else, my lights all look like they're in good enough shape, front bumper looks square, suspension, etc., the big concern for me is the back end, it's sitting really wonky, so not sure if the frame is bent, or if it's just the bed, but something is really messed up.

    Chop top, doorless, SAS... buggy?

Damn, sad to see pictures like that. Glad you're alright. How did it happen? Hope everything turns in your favor for the insurance thing.

The road I live on is a narrowish dirt road, which just got resurfaced with some gravel that's like driving on ball bearings. I had just pulled out of the driveway and was heading down, came around a turn and there was a truck coming up, he was on my side of the road from what I can remember, I went to slow down and the tires locked up, it seriously felt like I was moving faster with the brakes locked up than had I stayed off them. I slid, not gaining any control, for a bit, and my passenger tires hit the soft shoulder, shortly after they did I came to a stop, but wasn't on the road as much as I was on the mountain, the driver side kind of came up, the truck teetered, making me think it would be okay... and then it flopped. Luckily that tree was there and kept us from continuing, because below us was another 50 feet of elevation loss into a creek.

Well, it's light out, so I looked the truck over. Not sure what can really be done with it. I'm uncertain if the frame rear of the cab is bent, but there's something wonky going on there, the rear suspension isn't sitting level or square even on flat ground. I gave an attempt at turning it over, but the engine made a weird noise, so I didn't push it out of fear something was amiss.

Has anyone made a convertible Taco?

The driver side rock slider really saved a lot of damage from the tree by keeping my door off the tree, without that, there likely would have been more damage to both the truck, and possibly myself - we hit the tree pretty hard.

Truggy would be better than a convertible! Haha.

When I had my Jeep, I was going back and forth on building a hybrid interior/exo cage for it for... this sort of instance.

    I believe I just drooled.

Downside, is that (pending the opinion of an expert) I think the cab has suffered too much damage to repair. The rest is all bolt on stuff unless the frame is tweaked.

That thing is pretty sweet. How did you do your OTRATTW switches? In the under radio spot?

I bought the 6-switch panel from a guy in the 1st gen buysell section, it's a bent piece of aluminum that mounts into the radio holder, it's really brilliant.

Thats the one im looking into buying... How do you like the two led bars up front? Im considering doing that also. Did you use a dual wiring harness or one for each one?

At the end, I had a 42" bar across the top which was really nice for overall field of vision, the 14" bar on the stinger was a nice spot for distance, and the two 10" bars were one spot, one spot/flood; the plan is to get rid of those two, and just use the pods, 14" bar, and 42" bar. Having 6 LED units on the front end is overkill...

Ha yeah that is quite a lot. I plan on running a lot also though. When i get my front bumper i plan on the two pods in the front and a 20" combo light bar up front or maybe two 10" ones. Maybe later down the road get a radius lightbar for the roof...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HUMSWQK/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1414350286&sr=1&keywords=radius+light+bar It's gone up in price since I bought mine, but it's solid. It had a whole truck sitting on top of it for 4 hours yesterday and is just fine, minus a few small scratches. It took some modification to get to work with my now destroyed Relentless brackets.

The pods are only useful with the headlights, when you add them to a larger bar, they don't do *much*, they do help the way I have them aimed - off to the side to try and see deer and wildlife on the side of the road better, but they don't help a whole lot. I didn't even get to see how nice it was to use my alley lights :(

Those two 10" bars are for sale if you're interested, I just have to pull them off.

Also to answer your wiring question - originally I just had the two 10" bars; one on the stinger, one on the bumper, wired in tandem off the same relay. When I added the 14" bar, I just added that to the same circuit - I like having the bumper lights on one circuit, and then the roof bar was its own circuit, as are the bumper pods. Each alley light was run off of a single 2a fuse and its own relay and switch - I was going to expand this when I added more camp lights.

I also tapped into the high beam wire for the power to my switches that I wanted to be able to turn on and off like that, so all forward lights, and the rear lights were controlled by that. I could have any of the lights on w/ high beams, or none of them if I so chose. The alley light switches were both run straight off the battery, so I didn't need to activate any other circuit to have them on - didn't need to turn the engine on or anything if I needed camp light. I was really excited about the lighting setup, and where I had gotten it. I've always wanted alley lighting, and the custom brackets I had made for the pods to mount them up to the Relentless brackets were going to be pretty sweet.

How much are you asking for the two 10" bars?

That does sound like a sweet setup for the electrical. Once i get all my lights im gonna be using an aux box so it at least looks somewhat organized.
