GM does make decent full size trucks. But, compare to Tundra, they are not particularly reliable. But they still sell because, they perform well and many are sold as fleet trucks and many are leased. To someone who change them over before warranty runs out, it's fine. For some one who appreciates the performance and either doesn't know the difference or doesn't care as far as reliability is concerned, they sell

The same will be true for the Colorado and GMC. They have improved their performance dramatically and are mini versions of the Silverado which has a good following.

For those who lease, and there are many, for those who just don't care becasue they have the money, longevity, reliability etc. is only relatively important. They will buy the best performing Truck That is Ford and GM and sneaking up, Dodge. They don't care that Tundra motors are inefficient because comparably, ultra reliability demands it, they only care that it is inefficient.

    u mean perceived reliability :) for every person with a silverado/colorado problem, there's a person with a tacoma/tundra problem.

You actually think each car maker travels in a parallel universe when something is happening to one, something equally is happening to the other ? I will give you that while the CD fails to eject in a Tundra a Silverado stalls in traffic. If you follow each for three years, there is little difference. Follow each for six to ten, and the universe for each diverges.

Look, I'm not going to convince you. Go ahead, stay under the delusion that every other truck besides the ones that Toyota makes are unreliable.

The Silverado will have rattles and small part failures and you'll be hoping Toyota will give you a new frame, rear springs and finally fix that steering wheel shake.

I own both a 2012 tacoma and a 2014 Silverado, taco has been to the dealer more then the silvy, mostly tsb stuff but when I bought the taco I would of thought Toyota would have had all the kinks worked out as it's a well seasoned platform. My Silverado is my work truck to, I take care of it but the truck isn't pampered like my Tacoma by no means. Every manufacturer has issues, they are machines designed and built by people and failures are to be expected. Tundra vs. The Silverado debate Tundra is nice as a people hauler for a everyday w/t they don't hold up well. For the ones I do see as work trucks they look beat up much quicker than the fords and Chevy's.

He does stand behind decades and decades of proof, research and reviews.

Just saying I'd rather be in a ten year relationship with a Toyota

All trucks and cars have made great strides. But consumer reports on NBC nightly news TONITE which other major news reference regularly, had there presentation today, on the most reliable cars as measured to this past year from different manufacturers. It isn't like CR is the Toyota guru of all vehicles as they diss the Taco for a lot of things as well as other models from Toyota.

But not for reliability. Toyota/Lexus continues to be one of the most reliable car maker out there with GM/Ford ranking near the bottom. If I am disallusioned, I am in majority company. But you are in denial. Not only do these sources agree with me, but GM does as well. Read my lips...GM executives, you know, The guys that you support, every so often for decades (especially in and around the bailout, guess you were sleeping then) admit that Toyota is the high bar they try to emulate. Nothing has changed this year.

    http://www.kbb.com/new-cars/best-resale-value-awards/best-resale-top-10-cars/

Colorado comes in 4th on the overall top 10. In fact all 4 GM trucks are 4-8 in resale. So it isn't like GM is WAY BELOW the Tacoma in resale like everyone here claims. Yeah, we all know the Tacoma and Wrangler and top of the food chain in this regard. But it isn't a giant gap like you all claim compared to these other trucks.

For years, I would buy the following car 3 of them.....the Geo Prism and get a cheap Corrolla. GM was in the "can't beat 'm , get them to make it for us" mode.

KBB....after two years...the truck has only been out for two years. It should hold some value. It performs very well, has good power and standard features. The truck are still under bumper to bumper warranty. That is good. Now, after six, let's compare them then to the 2015 old Tacoma.

C/D compares trucks with the same criteria as they compare cars. Now, think about the values that most truck buyers consider: durability, reliability, and capability. C/D doesn't factor in these qualities. I'd say that the Tacoma easily edges out Colorado in each one of those aspects.... All that article proves is that the Colorado is more car-like than the Tacoma.
