They finally have their day , like every dog . I agree regarding the C/D review being based off car comparisons .

I like how people complain about the 2016 not being a completely redesigned platform. Why would you completely redesign the best selling, most reliable truck on the market.

To keep up with the times. I'll ask you this. Why did Honda completely redesign the Civic when it was already the best selling, most reliable compact car on the market?

You don't necessarily have to completely redesign a car to keep up with the times. The tacoma is already a proven platform, they just modified it to get better gas mileage, have a smoother ride and nicer interior.

And chevy is obviously trying to sell the canyon to non truck buyers. It's kind of funny.

Because of competition in the segment and a respect for customers.

Looks aside I saw that they are only increasing prices from 125 to 300 even with a complete redesign and a hell of a lot more new features.

Can't say that for the Tacoma....

I agree 100%. But there does come a point where completely redesigning a platform make sense. Increasing interior space and structural rigidity (even safety) are difficult aspects to improve on w/o making major changes to an existing platform.

Meanwhile Chevy Colorado owners are falling victim to GMC's 2 model ploy to confuse the market. Wondering if they made the right decision .
"maybe i should've bought the Canyon!?!"

Humor me by reading the transcription of Mark Ruess’ speech: “At Chevrolet and GMC, our goal is simple: to meet the specific needs of a broad customer base: no compromises, not for our customers, and certainly not in our trucks.

But let me correct myself: it’s really not a three-trucks strategy, it’s in fact a six-truck strategy — three sizes off of two brands.

Looking at both of those trucks , I cannot imagine why anyone would buy the Colorado...It doesn't even look like a truck...may as well be a Malibu with a truck bed

    @Jimsc

take this to the Colorado forums!!! :ohsnap:

    http://www.torquenews.com/1083/2016-toyota-tacoma-beats-colorado-canyon-first-month-sales

In its first month of sales, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma mixed with remaining 2015 Tacoma inventory beat the combined sales of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. With 11,165 units sold, the Tacoma outpaced the Colorado (7,334) and Canyon (2,332). GM’s mid-size truck sales are leveled off at their full production capacity. Nissan’s Frontier is falling further behind, with sales down 32% over last year at just 4,617 units.

DONE...I am a member there as I was seriously looking at the Canyon for a minute.......At the end of the day I just could not pull the trigger on another GM product, Service here is terrible. NO way was I going to pay anywhere near MSRP either. GMSP was a thought...but the Tacoma as usual won me over...

Each category? Name 1 thing the Tacoma is more capable than the Colorado in besides ground clearance... Reliability and durability are TBD.

IIRC ... that's all you asked for.

1 foot or a mile, what's the difference? It's better.
