Got my dewalt impact for $200. i also have an AC impact, and am looking around at pnumatic impacts to run off of my CO2 tank. Redundancy is your friend :)

I always carry a breaker bar, but hate using it. broken more seized bolts with that thing than i can remember. never broken one with an impact.

As mentioned, there are advantages to BOTH the compressor, and the CO2 systems. It depends on what your needs are. When you are talking TRUE overlanding, where you may be out in the middle of nowhere for a long period of time, I personally feel that having a compressor system has it's advantage. I used to run CO2 type tanks before, and yes, you get a TON of tire inflations with them, BUT when it comes time to run air tools, they go dry fast. So in my opinion, if you want something that will be of benefit on long treks where you may need or want to use air tools for repairs, a compressor is the way to go. There is always the option of having both. When talking Overland/expedition type trips, redundancy is very important.

redundancy is indeed the name of the game. currently have a 10 lb tank and a compressor for backup. going to be addinga second 10 lb tank and upgrading the compressor.

I have one. I just rotated the tires on the duramax. Removed 32 lugnuts and reinstalled them on one battery. You'll really like it, I haven't used air since I got it.

    Episode ten is up.

I get mine filled at a welding supply company. That said, I have to go to the main location to get it filled. Their satellite locations only do bottle exchange. That would be fine if I had just gotten an old, beat up tank, but I have a nice aluminum tank.

On a general CO2 note: Wherever you go to get it filled, make sure it is a siphon fill, not a poured fill. "pouring" CO2 will only get the tank about half full. a siphone fill will fully fill the tank. most places siphon, but ut can't hurt to make sure.

I'm watching episode 10 now. In the first few minutes they realize they're down to two lug nuts on the driver side rear tire and sheared off three of the bolts.

    Wut?

    Why 8 Maxtrax's?

How the hell did the manage to shear off 3 wheel studs? Did they never tighten the rear wheel?

Love it.. $10k in totally superfluous gear, and they don't even have a torque wrench.. Very surprised they didn't have a gold plates Gucci diamond encrusted one laying around!!!
