I used one of those in the annex. All the heat traveled up into the tent. Worked good. If you don't have the annex it's a different story and I'd be worried about burning the tent too.

Did you ever have to worry about low oxygen? I tried setting mine in the annex once to warm things up before we went to bed and within about 3-4 minutes the alarm was going off.

I never had the alarm go off. We did the same just warmed the tent up before going to sleep. It's definitely something you need to be careful with. The good news is we all were alive the next morning. :)

I don't have a annex but I know I saw a sierra expedition truck covered in snow with out a annex and if I'm not wrong they used Mr. Heater.

I will have give it another go. I figured it wouldn't be good to keep the heater in for long amounts of time but the alarm went off so quick I got a little concerned.

We use one in our Kodiak tent. I pack a wire rack that the heater rests in. The rack shelf keeps it 4 inches off the ground. The other shelf is on the top and provides protection on all sides so things don't randomly bump into the heater.

Let me know if you want a picture.

I'ts nice that it has a angle iron frame, but I still prefer mine I think. I just don't get the point of putting a hatch over the top of drawers I guess lol

The empty spaces on the sides are going to have stainless steel switch/aux power panels in them.

One day you may end up stuck, with your tailgate against a tree or rock and be unable to open your drawers the normal way. An extra 20 bucks for a hinge and a few other pieces allows you to flip the top up and get what you need in this scenario.

Complete OME kit w/ 881's and dakars. All-Pro Sliders, CB, HAM Radio and various other minor stuff.
I've looked at these and the Midland. With these and the magnetic CB antennas, do you need to set the SWR like any other antenna?

I guess I could see that... Idk I guess that is a pretty good reason. And your right 5 bucks could save a big headache, what I may do is just add a way to get stuff from the back of the drawers coming from behind my rear seats. Idk its not a big concern right now. I'll make sure I don't back into any trees for now, rocks though... :p

As with all CBs you'll need to get the SWR reading and then you'll know whether or not you'll need to adjust it.

Usually if you're parked against a tree, and unable to move your truck to open the tailgate, it wasn't your choice to be parked against the tree...

Bringing up this old post. I found a bedslide locally for a pretty good deal. It is for a long bed though. I think it is 68" long. Loco,(Or any one else with experience with a bedside) in your opinion could it be cut down fairly easily or would it be a lot of work?

Yes. Easily cut down. Grinder, or jig saw. Depending on the material, could use a circular saw. Then you need to trim the tracks and put the hardware back on the ends
