That's probably with shipping materials. It's still at least 200-220lbs. Wasn't too hard to get onto the truck with 2 people though.

I have the wider one. Its great, but it's over 300lbs EMPTY. Even with Expos in the rear I'm only level with the front of my truck. I've got to get rid of it before i get a RTT and rack.

Speaking of weight. I need to go through my tools and downsize. My gear on the roof hardly gets used.

Those of you who run an ARB or other fridge in your bed, how do you secure it when you're away from the truck? Just put it in the cab, or do you lock it down somehow? I don't have a cap since I'm running a rack and RTT.

I have a truck shell, so it's secure, however, I also have it cable locked to eye-bolt in bed of truck (heavy duty bike lock). That way If I forget to lock the shell, some opportunistic-looser thief, doesn't get my fridge. To get past the cable they're gonna need bolt cutters...

If I'm in an area I need to worry about it I will move it to the inside of the truck.

I'm assuming when you do so you hook it to the 12V cigarette socket so it can sip power while inside?

Any one have some suggestions for a good handheld GPS I can use to map trails in our county forests? I would like have the ability to export the tracks as well as have the option to add topo maps.

I use the backcountry navigator app on an old android phone I have. You can pre load different maps onto it so you don't need data. Record/export tracks, waypoints etc... I think it was like 10-$15. I just leave it in my truck. When I go kayaking in salt I'll load up some noaa charts, otherwise I just load up the cal topo maps for the area I'm going to.

Someone asked me today, why our two trucks were different heights. I knew my lift was the culprit, and tires. But them I remembered that the Leaf packs we had were different.

The EXPO's are twice as thick as any of the other packs out there, if I remember correctly. So theres the difference.

Not that it matters. Just a thought.

I'm using the "Maverick" app on my android. I don't know if it's available for apple, but it does the same thing, automatically downloads whatever you look at. So I go through the trip at various zoom levels when I have wifi or at least data and then I have them when I'm out of service. Then it just uses the phone's GPS. It works outside of the states/north america, too. I've used it in Australia, Argentina, and now in Ecuador. And the GPS is relatively accurate outside the states, but takes longer to triangulate. The nice thing is that I don't need an international cell plan so I just download maps when I have wifi.
There are also different maps that you can use, including satellite, street, and topo.
In addition to mapping, at least the pro version (not sure about the free version) tells you your speed, accuracy, altitude, compass bearing, and a bunch more that I can't remember right now.
I started with the free version but was severely limited in number of waypoints and tracks. The pro version was like $6 or something. Well worth it.
The only problem I've had with it is that the GPS sometimes turns off if I turn the screen off, so it doesn't track if it's off. Otherwise I've loved it!
