Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I got one for my 2012 in the pre-order about a year ago and I'm pretty happy with it. Solid winch and recovery point and light weight (especially paired with my synthetic winch line). Looks good and matches the factory body lines which I liked too.
This is true too. Now that I have a bunch of other crap hanging off my truck I'm not as concerned with matching the stock body lines and I'm thinking about going to a big bumper with the three hoops in the future.

Little Guy makes a nice off road teardrop.

A little different design than SoCal, and less expensive too.

My signature has a link to my build thread on Expo. (I would post a picture here, but don't have any nice ones with the new Tacoma as a tow vehicle.)

I like 'em quite a bit. I can't justify a full plate bumper. But, for pooping around solo in remote god knows where, I really like the idea of having a winch to self recover if necessary. This blends in great with the OEM front end. I actually prefer the idea of having a receiver up there, and carrying a winch only when headed to nether regions, to avoid excessive weight up front 24/7/365 and reduced mileage etc. as a daily driver. There's a similar product on this site for a replacement crash bar that accomplishes exactly this, but is virtually invisible. But I think I'd rather have this product with a receiver.

My primary concern right now is I'm all new stock truck and OMG I want to get back to where I was but better, OME lift on sale, which coils do I get, that all depends on front end weight and a master plan and fuck I also want better tires and wheels too and...shit.

I suppose with this option, the weight of a winch full time is at least a bit farther back than it might be on the typical plate bumper, therefore less leverage overall affecting CG and such. And it would likely be lighter than a full plate bumper, depending on several factors there, too.

And I do not want to increase the overall length of the DCLB.

And then I'm all like fuck I barely got the infant seat fitted and I still can't fit my toolbox in the fucling DC and I need a cap.

    So yeah.

Pretty sure it's gonna be cap, lift, tires/wheels in that order. But I'll buy the lift and let it season in the garage, as is the way of our people.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
I've been buying parts during this deployment, and they call to me in the night to be installed from the other side of the world. They haunt my dreams. I don't know how you do it.

A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
I made my own and seem to work just fine. I angled then away from the bed side to keep from rubbing. I will paint then after awhile.

Go for it! This is my plan as this is still my DD and I don't need the added approach angle for this rig. Plus he is offering free shipping until the 16th of August.

Last week I hit a few trails in the Sierra Nevada. Thought I'd share some pics.

It was a great trip. I used Huegel's "Sierra Nevada Byways" to find the trails and navigate.

Yes yes and yes. Dunderberg is a fun area. This whole region is our favorite for our fall color trips. Have you gone up to Laurel Lakes, just south of Mammoth? Highly recommended. I proposed to my wife at camp up there

Right, I figured it would be coming from the pass fender well, like every other Toyota ever since about 1995.5

So Poutine, you should plan on a trip up 395, and in addition to in addition to Laurel Lakes trail outside Mammoth, you should go to the Bristlecone forest in the White Mountains and go up and down Silver Creek Trail so you can enjoy a few miles of 1L downhill puckerfest.
