You make this so hard. 265/75r16, 255/85r16, and 285/75r16 I think? Pretty much 32s, 33s pizza cutters, or 33s.

Scepter makes great plastic water and fuel cans. I wouldn't buy anything else. Although from what I understand they are hard to come by in the states. Especially their fuel cans because they are non CARB compliant, which isn't an issue for us Canadians.

Rotopax are badass, you might be able to fit 2 three gal water cans in one jerry can slot. They also have steller customer service, steller.

I get 18-20mpg mixed on a 2.7, just don't want it to go to far down.

I drive slower than James May, so my Bilstein 6112s suit me just fine. For me, Kings would be a waste of money.

Any one have some info with adding electrical outlets in the bed of the truck?
Planning a trip in the beginning of the new year, plan to run a small heater and charging electronics. I've seen the usb and cig models but would like a standard electrical plug.

I hate to break it to you but electric heaters use a ton of power. I've metered a few personal space heaters and they use something like 700-900 watts on low and about 1400-1500 watts on high. Sustained power load like that would quickly deplete even the heaviest of +12v batteries.

For heat use a propane heater, like the Mr. Buddy line. For charging electronics you can use a small inverter (200 watt) but you must have the means to hook it up.

You can run a wire to your battery along the frame and wire up a cig socket in the bed. That's the fastest way to get power back in the bed of the truck. Most inverters sold today have a low voltage disconnect, so they should shut off before depleting your starting battery too much. If your just charging tablets, cameras, and phones, you should be absolutely fine. For the wire, I'd recommend a 10 or 12 gauge.

The only caveat with a setup like this is if you were to plug a different 12v appliance into the newly wired cig socket in the bed, you would most likely not have any protection against completely depleting your starting battery. Something you need to be aware of.

    Hope this helps.

I don't think there was any noticeable change, aerodynamics or weight wise.

I have had a yakima roof rack with cross bars on mine since day 1 and if anything, I'd say that, that it doesn't help.

No noticeable gain/drop in mpg for me with the topper.

I have the same cap and rack as Crom. I didn't notice any significant difference when I installed mine. However I'm sure the Yakima bars aren't the greatest for my gas mileage.

Most canopies only weigh around 150 pounds at most. They are easily moved and installed by two people. The weight difference won't account for much as far as your MPG go.

Sadly if you're in California you have to buy a matching replacement "water nozzle" for each can. Throw that piece of shit carb nozzle at the nearest prius and throw the yellow water nozzle on the design with the air vent is awesome and will dump that whole can out in faster than anything I've ever seen.

Side note, my career is in fuel and I'll forever have a burning vendetta against CARB/ AQMD :laser:

Do you know someone actually running a heater off of Goal Zero? I'd be interested in their setup. I have a Yeti 150 and it trips when I use my Dewalt dual 18v battery charger. Single works fine though.

I haven't either, but I will say that with the topper and the Yakima bars on im seeming to get about 20 or so miles less before the light comes on. not too bad. ill take that over not having the cap any day.

Mine is in flaring equipment, so oil and gas as well. I'm right there with you! And then every area (bay, SC, etc) has their own requirements and permitting on top of CARB. It's the absolute worst. California is a pain in the ass

Solo Motorsports has a 30 gallon Tacoma fuel tank that they use when they do their 4 links. It mounts where the spare tire cross memeber is and reuses the OE sending unit etc for CARB compliance.
