Exactly. I'm definitely in if we can get 20 people. I was just looking at buying a high end ice chest too, when for less than $100 more I can get a fridge that I'd much rather have.

What are my best options for padding the ribbed bed floor and keeping the cold from coming through?

    Thanks

Some stick on chrome from pep boys
How about trimming a sheet of plywood or particle board and then using your regular mats on top of it?

rubber bedmat and your normal sleeping pad I would think to be sufficient. or if you can, build a platform in there to raise the floor up. then you have storage underneath, and a solid floor to sleep on.

When I finally get a topper the plan is to build a platform with storage under and do something like this

This over the bed tent is a temp solution when I don't run my bed rack.

Can you run your truck and use the exhaust as heat? <- Just kidding please don't do that. It seems like a poor design so close to the exhaust.

Yea, I wouldn't be doing that unless I wanted to die. I had a friend commit suicide like that unfortunately. My exhaust is dumped after the axle anyway.

These ideas are all subject to change. Right meow I have the tent that just goes over the bed and I'll just get a bed mat and see if I can find a memory foam pad that's a few inches thick to keep the cold from getting through.

    Thanks to all that replied

    EDIT: ^^^^^^^^THIS. I didn't see this post, but I agree 100%

Get a Tacoma bet mat for your bed. Great accessory.

I have used a backpacking sleeping pad ($35?)and they work great! Even wally world sells them now, and the design they use is a direct copy of the expensive brands at REI.

Your fire pic is rad because of the rich red color and I like the shallow depth of field. It's telling me a story.

Cast iron rocks. Wifey and I switched to cast iron about 3 years ago. We use it every day and love it. We got 6,8,10,12 inch pans in the house, and for camp, I pack a dedicated 8 and 10" pan. :)

yea we did the same. Teflon isn't the best thing health-wise for open flame. he'll its not really all that good for you period if you have scratches and delamination of it. iron is the way to go!

Must have sticker on rig that says #EAF. Also helps to mount excessively heavy objects on roof rack. lol

Mounting the spare high on the roof rack is a great head turner. :) Never fails. :)
