But seriously, guess I take it for granted that I never really have to think about weather proofing much of anything from the elements since it's so dry.

I picked up this for storage in the bed of the truck while camping/overlanding. It has held up great and spent several nights in a torrential rain and not leaked a drop. I really like the handle and wheels too. Plus you can lock it.

I use 18 gallon Rubbermaid totes. They waterproof with lids on. Not expensive, stack well, durable enough for me.
I now use two, One for kitchen pantry food, other has pillows kid blankets.

I had this problem with my canopy/sleeping platform. I have a LED strip light on the back glass hatch and the bugs love to swarm
it when it's on. I had the GF make some curtains that are attached with velcro and we use the one at the back to keep the bugs out. It works great, simple solution.

Thats a really good idea! My girlfriend and I camped in the back of the truck in British Columbia and within seconds of opening the back we had swarms of mosquitos inside with us, made for a long night. Backpacking in Mt Robson Provincial park was just as bad, we had welt everywhere but it was all worth it for the scenery and remoteness.

Hey so I just picked up an icom f121 vhf unit, just wondering where some of you guys are mounting your coms, right now I'm thinking in the center console or in front of the shifter in that little cubby that just seems to collect junk

Change the led strip over to amber, supposedly most insects can not see that spectrum and are therefore not attracted to it.

 

It's all about carrying more crap.

 

It doesn't look too bad.

I'm holding off on buying more gear until I can figure out when/where to store it.
