Hey guys. I've been trying to organize my overlanding storage organization solution.

I'm leaning toward ripping my third row of seats out and putting in 2 drawers that span the width of the seats. I think they can be up to 8" tall and still sit flush when I fold all my seats down. Then I want to put a cargo slide on top of that that slides out 100% I think it can be a great storage solution for my needs.

Kinda like this but 2 of the drawers and no fridge..

Takes up too much space for me

I'd rather get a yeti and not run out of ice

Look into rtic fridges. I just bought one for short trips, should be here soon. A lot cheaper and still uses the roto mold

Most fridges have two plugs, one that can be plugged into a wall outlet at home and another that plugs into an aux/cig-lighter plug in the vehicle. I have a Yeti and a fridge and the Yeti never gets used. No comparison to having a fridge. Once you use one, it's hard to justify using anything else.

Yup! I made a separate battery case set up so I can use it when camping out for more than just a couple days or at a campground.

in my case, i have an Indel-B fridge which has a switch. If the truck battery starts running too low it'll switch off. But I usually just plug it in while the car is running, so it charges via the alternator. when camping for days in a parked position, i use a power center (http://www.amazon.com/Newport-Vesse...72104&sr=8-1&keywords=newport+vessels+battery). Ive had it on the battery for 5 days no problem, using a group 31 optima yellwotop battery.

Most quality fridges on the market now have a voltage switch that will shut the fridge off if the battery voltage drops too low so you don't end up with a dead battery. Even on my older ARB fridge I can leave the fridge running overnight without issue. If you are staying parked for several days without starting your truck you might look at a separate battery solution or solar panels to power the fridge when you're stopped.
