Yes! It's the 16" cab-height rack. It does not affect vision out of the back at all. It's the perfect height, in my opinion.

In terms of your storage solution, why not stack your Action Packers/storage bins (I'd have to verify if the 24 gallons stack on top) and use ratchet straps to hold them down? When we go camping I use ratchet straps across the side of the bins which hold them to the back wall and another strap on top to hold them down. Very solid and, while it's overkill, gives me peace of mind while driving.

Have you thought of putting the rtt on the roof? Then you could stack whatever in the bed. I have the packrack and it fits a decent amount underneath but now I am tentatively planning to move my rtt to a roof rack to gain the bed again.

It seems like a crude solution, and I wonder how stable it would be while wheeling. But it may be my only choice. I'd prefer each tote to have its own tie-down.

Sure, but I assume it's very top-heavy, and hell on mileage. Unfortunately, where I live, going camping requires a lot of highway miles.

Having a tie-down for each tote is even more overkill than I usually do. :D

The All Pro rack also has corner gussets that you can attach to.

Same for me, long drives. I don't think it'll be that much different than a packrack though. It already sticks up above the cab a bit. But I don't have any experience for on the roof

It'll stick up 4-6" above the cab (depending on which RTT you go with).

It's not that bad on the roof unless you are getting quite off your rocker.

Good to know. I think I'm going to do it if I can sell my packrack for what I want. I want to be able to bring my grom on trips without using a hitch carrier since that would ruin all clearance/departure angles.

If nothing else I can always buy another bed rack. At least that's my thought.

Look into Leitner Racks. @fishfinder has one. You can take the cross bars off so you can haul your bike.

Interesting. But I actually mean have the tent and bike at the same time.

Like today I'm camping out a racetrack in Wisconsin and brought my other bike on the hitch carrier. But it'd be nice to use the bed for the bikes instead/I can bring friends bikes as well if needed.IMG_20160804_105257098.jpg

Mobtown has something similar. My brackets stay on, but bars come off.

You need to check out the Tepui gear bags. I use mine on my rack all the time. The gear containers are sweet if you need a large bag. My favorite is the duffle though. They've been through some good rain storms and kept everything dry. They have also been excellent and keeping dust out.

@Box Rocket I just saw this pic. Cool tent! Quick question though. Is it mounted like that just for the pic or is it safe to hang a tent off the side when it is folded up like that? See how it wouldn't be on the rack fully because of the surfboards?

The crossbars on that 4Runner are extra long and reach almost to the centerline of the tent. So the tent is fully supported. You can see how long the bars are where the boards are strapped down.

Also, I've been able to check out this tent in person this week while I've been helping work the Tepui booth at the Outdoor Retailer show and it is super cool. The patent pending design that allows the canopies to be changed out is really well done and will allow customers to have the perfect tent for any conditions.

Damn... I was hoping to fit something next to my tent haha.
Yeah it looks cool! Would be nice for those hot nights but not much privacy.

The rain fly that's not shown in the pics would give some better privacy if you needed it.
