Don't forget your wife will want to put some "other valuables" in there as well.

They should be constantly used. They are meant to run and sitting shortens the lifespan.

I have the same fridge just the blue version (older model). Where did you order the Dometic branded slide from?

I'm thinking the TB51 is the way I'm going. Between all the positive feedback on here and the reviews it seems like a good bet

I love mine, i've had it for almost 2 years now, the GB was a steal (450 instead of 600$), i run mine pretty much round the clock and im wiring up my solar panel to my battery so i know for a fact it aint gonna die when im out in the sticks.

If you Googles the slider PN above it should take you to an Amazon link where they're available for $160-ish.

That's kinda the method behind my madness. I'm getting what I want to have with the camper while still going to campgrounds. Then I'll redo the campers electrical to serve what I have

yeah i know the feeling. I had a 4 day camping trip to the mountains the day before my fridge arrived so i just sorta botched a setup together to hold me over, now im fine tuning everything. Its about 60% the way i'd like, just need to buy hella 0/1 guage wire to run from the bed(where my spare battery is) to my primary battery in the hood and connect that to my charge controller for the solar panel and i'll be set. Building 2 vehicles at the same time aint no joke lol

Amazon said they were out of stock and didn't know when they'd have more. I found a few places selling them hut they were all $200+. Was wondering if the OP had found them somewhere under $200 that had them in stock.

I've seen that before on Amazon with this same product. Add it to your wishlist and keep an eye on it, they'll have them back in stock. It's worth the wait considering the obscenely marked up price of the other brands. It's friggin sheet metal on some slides....ugh.

It is usually on AC in the garage for either 1. Beer in fridge mode or 2. steaks in freezer mode. When wife was breastfeeding, it became the freezer annex to make room in the kitchen freezer. Finally getting back to using it in its native habitat as of a couple months ago.

I know the manufacturers of these if you ever want to try a GB, same for the Indel B/TruckFridge units.

Problem is the GB prices from TruckFridge are preventatively low. To hit that price point direct to the manufacturer you'd be spending a lot of coin.

Unit cost even at a 20 quantity is higher than TFs retail price during group buys.

They're really hard to beat, pricing wise.

Haven't looked up those Dometic units recently enough to recall pricing.

    Go bigger.

He's definitely resupplying, or he barely uses his fridge.
My wife and I go out for a week + at a time. We always plan meals well in advance, freezing components, precooking and freezing others. We use a Norcold 750. ( renamed the 751) It's a front opening type that fits nicely in our teardrop. It's a 2.7 cu ft ( roughly 76 L ). We usually have food leftover by the end of the week so we could probably get by with a smaller fridge. I still wouldn't go much smaller than a 60L. I like to over do things and bring more than I need. I don't camp to rough it, I camp for fun...

You won't be disappointed. I've had both a 41 and a 51. Both worked great. The extra space in the 51 makes fitting more food for longer trips really nice

I also use it as a beer fridge when its not in the truck. Never had a problem and always have cold beer

Buy a 35L cooler and have her pack it with a weeks supply of food for two. When the experiment is over wipe it down, return it and order at least a 52L unit from your favorite manufacturer.

A couple of things. One this is a fridge, meaning unlike a cooler you don't have to keep all of your drinks in it. Since it generates it's own cool, you can replace drinks as you pull them out. Second, a lot of people buy larger than is needed because they really used to using coolers, but coolers are deceptive. A lot of the space used in a cooler is consumed by ice. If you dont want to buy a cooler you could just cut and tape some cardboard together the same size as the fridges you're interested in. Remember though that with a fridge cooling air is just a waste of electricity.
