Gears should be bought before 35s. It's like buying a plate bumper before skids and sliders.
Eek, with MT and same setup I'm 13mpg winter, 15 summer.

Agreed. I got buddies that run the hardest trails an IFS on 35s can do and they don't run skids. Sliders yes but skids are whateva

For me it was a lot to go to 35's. Tires, gears, tubbing, cutting fenders, wheel spacers, etc. Adds up quick. Not to mention all the wear and tear maintenance items that go out much faster with the bigger tires. But I knew from the get go I wanted to run 35's because of the trails I run. Went straight from 32's to 35's. Granted you second gen's don't need to tub but you need a steep CMC and to cut the fenders usually.

Where do you get $1500 from? I need new tires anyway. And that's why I asked about not regearing, because I don't want to do that.

    Hold on....checking @cynicalrider's math.
Cooper STT Pros in 315/70/17 is $303 a tire.
    5 Tires
    303 x 5 ......
    Carry the 1
    That's $1515 in just tires
    Mount/Road Force Balance at $20/tire...another 80

Yep, confirmed. @cynicalrider was wrong...it's closer to $1600

Regardless if you need tires or not, the amount of headaches that will come from the larger tires are significant. Could be anything from high trans temps/searching for gears/ blown diffs etc. It will add up if you wheel. If it's a street queen then MAYBE not but you are killing your MPG's for looks? It just doesn't make sense coming from someone who has a function > form mindset but hey you do you.

ill try to remember next time im home. i found it on here though in a ug thread
yea 13. but i drive like an asshole
cant maintain speed half the time anyways in an auto without dropping a gear (which unlocks the converter which increases trans temps)
i havent blown anything up yet

trans temps are mild. not like i take it easy either
