Tires for larger wheels cost more because the expensive part of the tire is the rim beads, the sidewall transition, and the belts. All require stainless wires in the mold machines. Large wheels equal more bead, less transition area for the sidewall, and more belts for the width. Least thats what Cooper tire told me in one of their factory tours.

I’ve got an indel b and love it. It works great. I’ve had it for 3 years now and the last year it’s spent most of its time in the bed with just a travel cover on it. They claim to have the same guts as the arb but mine was only $600 for a 51 liter from Truckfridge.com. Definitly reccomend checking them out.

I have a Dometic CF50 and no complaints. It was around $600 shipped from Amazon at the time.

I also have an indel b fridge. Got it from truckfridge. It has been great.
Only complaint I have is I wish the lid was hinged on the long side rather than the short.

My Dometic opens on the long side and is great. It gets mounted behind the driver’s seat with the hinge to the rear so getting drinks from the passenger seat is easy while driving. In camp I usually roll down the rear passenger window and reach in through it for stuff. The door on the awning room lines up perfectly for that also.

I run a Dometic 65dz that sits in the back seat of my extra cab. It is just short enough to be able to open it fully. I like that it has a insulated removable divider so I can have actual frozen stuff while keeping other things just refrigerated. I've only had it since December but have been loving it so far. Will really put it to the test with my first big trip of the year in April.

The main reason why I got my Dometic was because it opened on the long side.

I'm running an ARB 50qt and love it. Big enough for meals for a week for 2+ adults. Opens on the short side, but that's good for me because I keep it in the bed on a cheap "bed slide". I love that it uses very little power - I'm on a single battery setup, and I've never really had to worry about it running the battery down as long as there's a few hours of driving each day. I did decide to get a LiIon jumpstarter though, just in case.

It fits, and it goes in, but it's not easy or light. The 50 will probably be a bit smaller and lighter. Mine is 50lbs, empty. And the only way to get it in the back is to fold one seat all the way forward and lay the other all the way back and then you can work it in there. It's kinda nice though because if anyone ever wants to try to steal it, they will have a difficult time. I honestly thought I would need to pull the passenger seat to get it in, but thankfully I didn't need to. I don't think any fridge will be "easy" to take in and out of an extra cab, but that's because of our cab design. That being said, I did borrow an arb 50qt and was able to squeeze it in by shoving it behind a folded over passenger seat.

Almost 5 years into my ARB 50Q. Love it. Works great.

Not sure what you mean fiberglass top tent. But I use the buddy heater in canvas tent, no probs. Very nice camp item.

You won't be able to stay in the tent if you leave it on for more than a few minutes. It will get way too hot, even on low. They're nice for a quick warm up before bed and before getting out of the bag but put off too much heat for continuous use all night.

True story - 56-66mph winds from yesterday about 0800 until 0700 today in Clark County, NV. Finally had to put sweatpants on, I hate wearing long pants. Looking at the windchill chart, 55mph wind + 40degreeF = 25degreeF. Felt worse, IMO.

OK, the worst part is I had gone into town sans trailer, on my 18" tires, got propane, groceries, water, pudding and chocolate were up there on my groceries list.

The wind is howling last night, I figure "Hey, I'll dig into the pudding and chocolate!" I had bought the good chocolate, the Lindt Intense Orange and Blackberry with Acai, and I couldn't find it.

Being pretty studly, I jump out of the trailer in my boxers and a hoodie in the howling wind and aforementioned 18degreesF wind chill and search the truck from front to back, no chocolate. Studly-like, I scream "Nooooooo, nooooo!!!" scaring coyotes for miles around, then calmly stalk back to the trailer in my boxers, despondent, but willing to shoulder the burden like a man.

Overlanding is hellish sometimes. You do all you can to make it livable, then all of a sudden, BLAM, no chocolate.

You forgot to mention the blowing snow and wolves prowling the edges of the camp.

I didn't mention there was snow maybe three miles away, didn't hear any wolves, but it was kind of studly-like to just jump right out of the trailer in boxers, yeah?
