TBH I forgot all about this thread. I don't have anything interesting to offer as last year was pretty rough for us. Loosing a job, finding a job, family health issues, and finally a death kinda took any opportunity to get out and advnture away from us. We hoped this year would be different and now there is all this craziness going on with the Coronavirus which we take seriously.
We did get out a couple of times just to get away and escape last year.

...But wow, the Fire Wave itself was extremely cool. Set on the edge of a sandstone monolith that rose out of the surrounding landscape, the pattern was discernable and nothing special from above. But, by moving just a few dozen feet down, into the wave itself, the perspective changed into a magical swoosh that we sat and enjoyed for longer than I think either of us planned...

...Our plan - at least at the beginning - was to hit up the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway, a ~100 mile journey from Grand View, Idaho to Jordan Valley, Oregon, exploring several areas along the way. From there, we'd find our way to places we'd been before - finally (hopefully) getting to soak in Three Forks Hot Springs and see the south side of Jordan Craters. And then we'd head even further west and south - out of Owyhee - to the Alvord Desert and Pueblo Mountains, in search of a B-24 Liberator crash site from 1945....

...Thirty minutes later, we approached the spot I'd marked to camp. On the satellite imagery, it'd looked like a finger of land that reached into the lava flow - my hope being that the lava had left a "room" in which we could camp, sheltered from the wind. In reality, there was a finger of land that rose up onto the lava flow - a fantastical camp site... for a calm night....

...And with that, we'd arrived. High along the ridge of the Pueblo Mountains, the 75-year old remains of a WWII plane, that crashed on February 2, 1945 - a clear night - scattered across the landscape. Eleven crew members lost their lives. A few years ago, a group of adventure motorcycle riders placed a plaque at the site to remember the brave men who gave their lives for our country....

Why do you cross-post so heavily?
Edit: I don't mean that as a complaint. Your trip reports are great and your pictures are even better, I've taken a couple trips inspired by you already. It's just you are every-other post on a dozen different threads on here.

I've found that different folks hang out in different places, and all like to see the trip reports. I've asked whether it's a bother, and the general consensus was to keep posting.

We went camping in the Adirondacks this past weekend, it was pouring hard and really dark when we got there - ditch lights would have been helpful! The first spot was in the Piseco-Prowley rd primitive area.IMG_6685.jpg

Here's a shot of the nearby river.

    IMG_6699.jpg

Below is the second spot, at the North Lake Primitive Camping sites. It rained here too, a lot. Luckily we had some tarps to cover our makeshift kitchen.

Anyone ever seen a salamander like this? There were hundreds of them all over near the first spot.

We'd just been to the Owyhee area, but when the opportunity presented itself to get together with Mike, Zane, Ben, and Kirsten for Memorial Day, we knew we had to go back - the lure of getting together to enjoy the outdoors with friends, greater than the desire to explore somewhere new.

Plus, even though we were in the same general area, we were able to come up with an itinerary that wouldn't exactly repeat what we'd done just a few weeks before. That is, if all went according to plan.

Like all trips, this one wouldn't go exactly as planned, but as usual I'm skipping too far ahead.

It may have been asked, but what camera equipment are you using?

nice I have a 80d as well And a 6dmkII. I used to do photography. Have you ever thought of switching to full frame? The 6DmkII is an awesome camera. With the photography you do i bet you’d loved t. It is a bit more pricier though.
