Man, that things is amazing. It’s like it was custom made for a 3rd Gen Runner, too.
The smaller duo fits perfectly between the wheel wells and length wise. The larger duo fits perfectly above the wheel wells if you build a platform.

Good night’s sleep, every night (that it’s not super hot out) ha.

We did SoCal to Alaska and back in a Ford Escape and didn't have much trouble. Helps when all you pack is one pair of boardshorts and 20 t-shirts though. Aside from camera gear we kept everything in clear storage bins in the back and made sure to constantly arrange them before leaving to a new spot. If I had it my way the entire car would have things yard saled and been a nightmare lol

Awesome! My wife and I were driving with a friend to AK this Fall and got canceled by Covid crap ha. They literally made us get out of his car at the Canada border (he had a house there so was able to drive home) and made us walk back into the US to check back in with the border and wait hours for a lift home ha.

    Maybe next year!

It's an incredible drive. The provincial parks get crazier and crazier as you go up the ALCAN

...As we slowly-but-still-too-quickly made our way through the mountains, @mrs.turbodb discovered that not far from the route, a hike - to ********* Canyon, apparently allowed those who put in a little effort to enjoy a series of petroglyph panels, and we knew that despite it already being after 5:00pm, we had to make the trek....

Found some sweet alpine lakes this week on my road trip from SF to Telluride. Also got to spend some time camping in the Nevada desert on the way out.

Smoke was terrible in the Sacramento area too.

This past weekend from Thursday - Sunday traveled via vehicle over land about 950 total miles. ~500 of those were spent exploring VT from the Canadian border zigzagging approximately Southwest into Massachusetts. Unlike all you lucky bums out West, we don't have much in the way of off road travelling in the Northeast. Mainly the North Maine Woods, and North East Kingdom in VT along with Class IV roads (VT) and Class VI roads (NH). We were able to do about 225 miles off pavement in total. Pretty awesome for the Northeast. Obviously this was not overlunding as there were no skottles used, only 2 of the 5 vehicles had RTT's, only 1 vehicle had a prinsu rack, not a drone was flown, and there were no shemgahs or 5.11 garb worn. Good old camping and using 4x4's to get between sites.

VT/ NH/ ME are rad. So many little waterfalls and dirt roads to bomb around on. Miles and miles of glorious nothing and nobody. Plus pretty hardcore crawling on NH class VI's and VT Class IV's.

As far as the shemgahs (aka overpriced scarfs): Every idiot "overlander" that pops up on my social media while i'm just trying to see cool vehicles is wearing one of those stupid things 7 times out of 10 like they're some sort of CIA special forces navy seal commando for some reason.

    Just the basics
But they are true "overlanders" LOLOLOL I hate that term. I'm a guy who goes off-road to campsites. I'm not crossing continents with little to no support.

Hitting the lost coast this weekend. Built a platform for the bed, and getting an ARE installed tomorrow :sawzall:

2x6's and some 3/4" ply plus an outdoor carpet make this about as simple as is humanly possible.
