Lots of used Pelicans all over the place. I don't usually like the true mil/surp cases because they tend to part in the middle, leaving a top half and a bottom half. That's handy if you need to access a case or mortar rounds in a hurry, but not if you have it stuffed with miscellaneous items that tend to spill out.

You can also find used Zarges boxes out there, but used Pelicans are so common.

For cases that open in the middle, you can always rig a net over each side. Like the older suit cases. May not work for large stuff, but will hold each side in.

LOL I know a lot of people really like the RTT but every time I see one my first thought is 1) I am NOT carrying the dog up and down a ladder 2) how the hell do you get the wood up to the stove?

    tent_stove_aa904581e88124dc4b2debe7b24ee288323d7ab1.jpg

The smaller the stove the more often you are going to feed it. I need to upgrade mine to at least a 4 dog and a 5 dog stove would be even better. Although with all the wood restrictions across the country any more I am thinking of switching to coal like many others and a smaller stove will work in that case.

He is probably referring to the transportation of firewood. There are a lot of restrictions on how far you are supposed to haul firewood due to the different bugs that can destroy certain trees.

Ah I can see that. I dont think I have ever hauled firewood for camping. I always just gather once I get to my destination. Except for a few winter snow trips.

Yes sorry about that, exactly. I don't want to spend all my time cutting wood when I am out so used to bring in a fair amount of hardwood.

Read today that the extreme cold is killing off the ash borer beetle and larvae around much of the country so wondering if things might change but I doubt it.

    crap bolted and welded together....
thats a cool idea. The hard thing i see is trying to run the vent out of the annex or tent with the flume being warm around the fabric. I only say that since people are wanting them inside.
