well you read the title...got ina crash today....had one eye witness say it wasnt my fault...the old lady i hit, without just coming out and saying it, admitted fault, so thats good....police report determined it was her fault...hopefully insurance goes smoothly....anyone know about, if i wanna take cash instead of a new bumper so i can buy a nice one with winch hookup, how that works? do i get less money if i take cash? never gone thru this before....

Other insurance comp will give you a check after getting an estimate from a body shop to do the repairs. do what you want with the check.

ok do i have to tell them i want the check..they wont just write it to the body shop by default?.....and hahahaha too true too true....she pulled a uturn right in front of me directly before an intersection :/....i talked to a cop buddy of mine and he said i was lucky because in Illinois if you hit someone from behind you are always held responsible. "failing to avoid a crash" or somthing...im rly glad i had a nice enough guy to stop and vouch for me...

Insurance shouldn't be a problem and I'm glad nobody was hurt.

When I was rear ended and pushed into someone else (ironically almost a year to date) the Insurance company would work with the collision center (in my case a Toyota dealership that had a collision center). There was more damage to my truck than what looks like yours.

What I did was worked a deal with the Insurance company and the collision center. I had to buy the bumpers outright and have them on hand before I could take the Tacoma to the collision center. I bought them and once I had them I took the truck to the TCC and had the truck fixed.

Now, the Front bumper, brackets, valance and a few other items ran $860+. The cost of a brand new ARB (will called from their U.S. headquarters was $735). Rear bumper and all parts was $260 or so (stock Toyota bumper) and the Demello rear was close to $700. I ended up paying the difference on the rear bumper but the insurance payed for the rest.

I chose to take mine to a collision center because after I got home and looked at the damage there was an AC line that had been crushed as well as a few other mounts and the frame was tweaked. Total cost to repair my 2003 Tacoma was $8600

Do it on your own or get it done right with a guarantee and warranty??

I chose to get it done professionally.

there is a special group buy right now on those bumpers right now. once the 10th order has been placed tim is randomly selecting 1 person to get their bumper for free. i think there are 9 people on the list

Time for a relentless fab or ARB! Go for it!

Like Kilted Chicken said... OEM bumpers are just about the same cost as an ARB or Relentless fab so why not beef it up
