If you look at gen 3 and gen 3 photos you can notice that the bed is taller on the gen 3. I know you all know that, but looks at side by side pics you can see it more pronounced. Looks better with a little taller bed.

Well, aside from the generic scribbled two 4's and an X on the bed, the non existent aerodynamic roof tumor that won't serve any function than to fit your bigger wives in the back and the poverty twigs the guy "hauls", I think the 3rd gen looks pretty damn good.

Lol. Diesels. Diesels make peak torque at 2500!!
Or less. I think the 6.7 Cummins in the new Rams makes 900 ft/lbs at something like 1700 RPM.

Only diff I notice is that discs are a lot easier to service. I have only actually had to replace rear brakes on one truck. Never even replaced them on my 2001 F150 brake eater that my ex drove. She did not know how to coast. Went through 3 sets of pads on front in 90k and we live on flat ground.

Glad I bought my 2015. 2016 doesn't seem to have been worth waiting for. MPG numbers are not that impressive.

Still have a 6-disc CD player and Cassette player.. I use everyday... My son listens to the same cassette tapes that I did as a kid...

Don't hate.... And the Go pro mount is just ridiculous... One more distraction you don't need...

False. Drums brakes do not "work better" haha and if they are better for towing, we might want to alert Ford, Chevy, and Dodge so they can start putting drums back on their 2500 and 3500 series trucks. As far as more surface area, sure, but a wheel cylinder has got nothing on a caliper as far as braking power. The fact that people are defending drums is baffling to me.

I have also done a disk conversion. I used the front calipers and rotors off of a 2004 Tacoma using all Toyota parts. Without any bias, the rear axle would lock the brakes much faster than the front. I had to install a proportioning valve. That means for the same effort, the disks are more efficient than the stock drums. Once I got them dialed in, I feel less pedal effort is required and the pedal feels more precise and solid. I have removed the rotor shield backing plate from all four rotors, and no longer have any issues with debris getting lodged in them. The drawback is when it's wet the brakes take half a tick longer to bite. I obviously prefer disks to drums. Mostly because there are a variety of pad compounds available, maintenance is easier, they don't fade as easily (they still fade, they are undersized for serious use) and there are less moving parts.

Was considering a new Tacoma next year but I'm highly disappointed by this review. Unfortunately I rarely go off-road. I love my '07 Tacoma but the new Chevy Colorado is looking better and better to me.

What specifically does the Taco lack that the Colorado has? Just curious, I think they are both nice looking trucks for their perspective markets and think the babymax will sell like crazy.

Would be pretty cool to do the disk conversion but instead use tundra brakes on all 4 corners

Thought this review of the 2016 Tacoma was a good read.

Even if the truck had all the refinements that most of the newest trucks have. I still would not buy it. I think it's but ugly inside and out. The front end looks just like a Subaru Outback and the inside looks like a Corolla. I will be keeping my 2013 DCSB Taco. Just thinking out loud doesn't the Subaru have a 3.5 liter also. Makes you go Hmmmmm?

They say the rear drums don't provide a whole lot of braking power...but when I had a leaky rear seal on one side...my truck was dangerously unsafe about stopping no matter how hard I hit the brakes. So not sure how much I believe that lol.
