Good, the more people complain about it the better chance or toyota possibly doing something about it.
The auto isn't terrible by any means imo, but it's isn't any good either, it's falls somewhere "meh" on a transmission satisfaction spectrum

Product variations & test conditions. Some higher end manufacturers actually dyno each engine to ensure product consistency. TM does it on certain Lexus products. Of course, other than possible power difference, is there a weight difference, configuration difference, was the weather and pavement the same. There's a bunch of reason why the numbers may be different. A side by side comparison would def be more accurate.

Hell yes, not a fan & wouldn't pay extra for the multi color LEDs but massaging & adaptive seats are the shit.

Appears the Taco already has autonomous breaking. Rear diff's, hood supports, plastic tc actuators...

    Sorry- I couldn't resist. :D

I would have never optioned a heated steering wheel on a vehicle, but my new truck came with it in the options package.

I am here to tell you.. We had several weeks of -20 to -30 temps. The heated seats AND steering wheel was absolutely f*cking awesome. There is nothing better than remote starting my truck from my layout goose blind in -32F, waiting 10 minutes then getting into a warm vehicle and heating those seats and steering wheel, lol.

God call me spoiled but I ain't going back from that, lol.

    ^This.

People may poo poo heated steering wheels and seats, but once you've gotten accustomed to them, they are almost a MUST on any vehicle thereafter.

It would be like long term dating Kate Bekinsale and then having to go out with Nancy Pelosi afterward.

Agreed. Most do use it is a daily driver. So comfort is a must. Especially for a vehicle approaching 40K.

I find the Tacoma very comfortable. Of course, I have never owned a luxury vehicle, I have driven many many audi's, BMW's, Volvo's, and not too many Mercedes. I seriously find the Tacoma better suited as in terms of comfort than a 2014 & very similar 2016 Audi Q5. I would take it over the 2016 XC60 and the current BMW X3. Of course I am 35 years young, so these vehicles DO NOT match my lifestyle.. I am not leather fan, so this helps.

Isn't a 25k worth of scheduled maintenance just 3-4 rounds of oil change/tire rotation?

The only time I felt my old Tacama uncomfortable was on long road trips. Lack of adjustability was a sore disappointment. Other than that, it fit like a well-worn glove.

My opinion: this Auto is a sloppy outdated transmission. Don't let 6 gears fool you...

The shift points and the actually sloppy slow shifting is pathetic. I don't know how a company like Toyota can stand behind it....

For those who don't agree...maybe you need to step out of your 3rzs and 22res and into something from the past 5 years that actually has a Transmission with current generation dynamics. So sick of hearing this truck compared to your 84 Hilux etc....I have owned more 22re and 1st gen tacos then most. Time to live in 2017 and realize this truck is dated and a joke they hides behind awesome exterior styling and a 7in touchscreen. Smoke and mirrors....

Utilitarian? Try jumping in a brand new land cruiser 70! I sat in one in Japan. It's like going back in time
    I'd rather have a LC70 DC-GXL than any Tacoma.
